October 27, 2001. Halloween Party at the Oneida Valley Fire Hall. The lineup was Delta Slade, The Latchkey Kids, Drained, End with Scratch, Pain of Reassurance. This was remarkable, as it was the LKK's first show. John played about 20 drum solos and it was fun for all. Thanks to Dy and all those who helped us get this show. We hoped we didn't disappoint. |
December 22, 2001 Show at Apparition Food Court: Far From Over; The Latchkey Kids; Jumpstart; Zip, Flop, Oh My God |
Upcoming Shows |
January 26, 2002. The Latchkey Kids got third in the Newarski Productions Battle of the Bands at Apparition. Congrats to Delta Slade, who won, and Emphany, who came in second. Also, Zip Flop, Far From Over, and Wrongly Accused rocked. |
February 1, 2002. Show at Apparition with Zip, Flop, Oh My God; Stationary Death; End With Scratch; and My Cousin Walter. This was a rad show which went better than expected considering we had a week between this one and the last one. So, we used the same setlist from the last show, but it was fun. Me and Tim had heard about the show before, but we forgot it was on this friday so we didn't really have much warning. All the other bands were really cool; Stationary Death was the best thing I've seen, ever! Haha. End With Scratch rocked as usual and My Cousin Walter was insane. First time I ever saw a ska band at the Apparition Food Court... they were really good. We played Problem With Stop Signs, Torches, Placing Blame, Advertising World, Russian Song, Last Nite, Too Tired, Agony of Defeat, White Noise, and Find Me in the River. |
February 15, 2002. The Latchkey Kids ended their barrage of shows with a stunning performance at Jordan Auth's "Love Sucks" show at Apparition. Bands featured were Wrongly Accused, Coleton With Half of Delta Slade, Delta Slade, and Draind. It was a pretty darn cool performance featuring a Latchkey Kids Rap Medley, and some new songs like "I Don't Wanna Tell You I Care," "That Place I Know," and "She" by Green Day. |
March 22, 2002. LKK played with Descent, Delta Slade, SMM, and the Denoters at Apparition Food Court. It was Becki's show. Opening for the mysterious band SMM was kinda creepy, but we had a good time and a fun set. A highlight was the Delta Slade parody by covering "All Along the Watchtower" during "Problem With Stop Signs." Other new stuff was "Sangria!" and "A Killer," which went well. The other bands were great; Descent debuted their new singer, Delta Slade rocked the house, SMM got a circle going for "Obladi", and the Denoters got the whole crowd moving the whole time. It was really fun, and the best part is, we got some of it on video! Now, the LKK prepared for the big Mind's I show. |
March 29, 2002. LKK were the special guests, along with Delta Slade, at the All Ages Minds I show at the Days Inn. Delta Slade was in rare form as they stormed through their powerful set. When we got on stage, we informed the crowd that we'd probably be different than them, and started off with our new song, "Let's Go." The rest of our set also went well, and we also debuted a pop medley similar to the rap medley, in which we gave away a copy of our cd if you could name one band we covered. Many knew the bands, so we held a best of three Rock-Paper-Scissors with Jordan Auth and John Worst. Jordan won a free copy of White Noise. We also sold a few copies, too. Mind's I was perhaps the best band I've ever seen. They did a phenomenal job. All in all, a great show. |

May 24, 2002 saw a show at the Apparition Food Court with a few bands. They played in this order: Legless Prom Dates, Chaos Possum, Billy Likes Soda, LATCHKEY KIDS, The B-Movie Stuntmen, Orange Spade. It was mad fun, and the guys at Apparition didn't throw us out! Joe had the pleasure of drumming for THE LEGLESS and for part of Chaos Possum's set, along with the Billy Likes Soda drummer. All the bands did really well, and Luke from the Stuntmen even almost disrobed completely. I walked in and saw him in his boxers. How rude! Haha. I look forward to playing with all the bands again. Thanks a lot to Tom and the guys from Descent who flyered the heck out of the show but couldn't play on account of their singer, Mikey, and also to Jared Negley who did the PA and Becki who took the money. John Hooks sat at the table with the money for a while, too, and didn't steal any, so that's notable. All in all, it was a success for both the Latchkey Kids and Dirty Sock Records. |

June 8, 2002 thanks to TOM and DESCENT for having us at Apparition Food Court with Brodie, End With Scratch, and Billy Likes Soda. June 7, 2002 was the historic date where the Latchkey Kids, with Mike Motley in tow, invaded the small village of Slippery Rock. After driving around for three hours (it seems) in search of the hallowed Slippery Rock Park, the Latchkey Kids played a great set of their favorites to introduce a whole new generation to the madness. It came that Descent, 400 lb. (of Punk), Lemon Scented Death, the Latchkey Kids, and the B-Movie Stuntmen played. Thanks a lot to everyone in Lemon Scented for being so cool and getting us the show. Even though we didn't know we were playing until a few days before, it was mad fun. Afterwards, the LKK packed up and headed back home, to play a show with favorites Descent at the Apparition Food Court. Until then, they rested, and got ready for the next leg of the Tour. |
June 12, 2002. Billy Likes Soda, Brodie, Descent, and the LKK played at Bon-Ton in the mall, but the LKK only played for 18 minutes due to circumstances beyond our control, (i.e. the fascist mall shutting us down). The lounge set included Latchkey favorites along with a stunning sing along rendition of "Placing Blame." Trust me, though, we won't be doing this again any time soon. |
August 2, 2002. Dirty Sock Show at Apparition with Better Half, Descent, Billy Likes Soda, End with Scratch, the B-Movie Stuntmen, and Delta Slade. After inciting riot after riot at the Apparition Food Court, the Latchkey Kids left the stage, refreshed, revitalized, and taking care of business redeeming themselves for the malay of the Bon-Ton show. Who would have known? The unassuming punkers donned in t-shirts hailing from the small community of Butler, PA, took the stage and played louder and harder than ever. Set in motion, the crowd reeled from such Latchkey Kids classics as "Problem With Stop Signs," "Find Me in the River," "IH8TEU," and others, and also got an earful of instant classics such as "What Time is It?," "Hardcore Song," "Devil," and "Back to the Finish Line." In fact, Jim Young, formerly of Moss on Rawks, remarked that before us, no one was even standing, and when we started playing, "all hell broke loose." Other memorable moments came from Better Half, who opened with the Doug Funnie theme song, the B-Movie Stuntmen, who like pie, and Delta Slade who played for about five hours. But it was worth every minute. :-) |
March 1, 2003 with Chad Fell Down, the B-Movie Stuntmen, Catfink and Hot Mustard, and Vermin. Great show at Apparition thrown by our friends in Cranberry; it was a very fun crowd and we all had a great time. We debuted "Consequences" and played "Sangria!" for the first time in a while. December 20, 2002, with the Move 9, Analog Process, Good Intentions, Finster, and the Twirpentines. November 15, 2002, with the Dry Fish Project, Somebody in San Diego, The B-Movie Stuntmen, Something in Itself, and Orphan. This was kind of thrown together at the last minute but was still good. October 26, 2002. With Better Half, Day Zero, the B-Movie Stuntmen, The Switch, and the Distorted Penguins. Thanks to Becki for putting this show on, it was very awesome and one of the best crowds for us I've ever seen was there. August 9, 2002. With the B-Movie Stuntmen, Draind, Emphany, Orphan, Mindstrap, Billy Likes Soda, and Delta Slade at the Shaffer Battle at Apparition. This their second set of back to back shows, the Latchkey Kids were ready to deliver the 1-2 again and leave the crowd stunned. I think they did. They played what many believe was their best set to a suprisingly decent audience considering their opening spot. The setlist went as follows: (Yeah) Let's Go, White Noise, Advertising World, Placing Blame, Find Me in the River, IH8TEU, Sangria!, the Place that I Know, Yeah Right, Problem with Stop Signs, Latchkey Kids, Russian Song. It was especially notable in that it was a complete 180 from their last show, which went well with quirky Latchkey humor but wasn't as good as this one. Mad props to all the other bands that played. We didn't place because we didn't sell enough tickets, but we would have one with this set anyway. August 8, 2002. With Billy Likes Soda, Delta Slade, and 105 North Tower at the Butler Township Building: Steve Surglawski's show. It probably would have been nice if we would have told people that we were playing this shindig, but...well, we didn't. Which is fine, I suppose, but I don't think it's a good idea to play an unannounced show out in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, we opened with "Devil" and played a couple new classics from our album, but overall there was a sort of weird tension that came through in the set. It wasn't bad, but personally I think we've done better. Other mentionable moment(s) was when I changed the words of Placing Blame to make fun of Delta Slade not coming in to see us, but I think they understood that anyway. |
