| I had to leave work for a little while today. I became so disturbed about some things that I had to get out and away to clear my mind and calm my soul. I saw something that made me more than angry - it made me heartsick. |
| I looked at this photograph for a very long time. I thought surely someone had created this on their computer, but I did a little research and found out it was an actual scene. This is not a proud moment for these people, no matter what they might think right now. This is a moment full of hate, one short sentence that preaches volumes of hatred. On a smaller scale, this moment is just as appalling for me as September 11th. These people are supposed to be protesting a war, not creating a more violent attitude. What happened to PEACE? This certainly isn't it. This is a sickening display, an abusive display, of our gift of free speech. How does this make the family of the soldier who committed the attack on the 101st feel? Lord knows it's plenty hard on them already. How does it make the rest of the 101st feel? And most of all, how does it make the family of the officer that lost his life in that horrid attack feel? Did these protestors even think for one minute about any of this??? Don't they care about anyone's feelings??? To me, this is more "shock and awe" than I have seen in the television coverage of the war. Shortie 03-25-03 |
