Unless you're the one living in a hole, you've heard that the 4th Infantry Division captured Saddam today.  Saddam really looked like he'd been through hell, and I guess that's all right.
Karma is a wonderful thing.

Maybe now the world will find out the truth, probably more than we
are prepared to know, about what has really transpired in Iraq since 1979.  There will be stories told that will make us all sick.

So many have underestimated how fearful the average Iraqi has
been, thinking Saddam will come back to power.  Many who know much have been too terrified to come forward.  Like I said, the
stories will be forthcoming and they will shock us.  What we have heard so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

There is more news this weekend that you may not hear, now that Saddam has usurped the airwaves.  There is a report from
WorldNetDaily   that Mohammed Atta, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, was trained in where??? In IRAQ!!!!  And by whom???
By Abu Nidal, one of the most bloodthirsty men of our generation.  Remember in August of 2002 we received reports that Abu Nidal
had committed suicide in Baghdad, but few believed that was really the case.  Most believe Abu Nidal was murdered by Saddam.  Maybe we will find the truth about that incident also.
So you don't believe this???  Go
here and read it for yourself.

The point is: Saddam
was involved with al Qaeda.  As you know, this is no surprise to me.  I have always maintained that Saddam had to
be working with al Qaeda - he had no choice but to be.  He always wanted to be the one responsible for the fall of America.  When it started to look like al Qaeda was going to be the best hope for that
to happen, Saddam had to get involved, to have his piece of the
pie of history and have his name associated with what he hoped history would tell.
If you know how Saddam's mind works, you know this is true.

What would be a fitting punishment for Saddam?  Well, I really don't like to think about it, but death is too good for Saddam.  Maybe a David Blaine type exhibition - hanging Saddam from a glass box
in the center of Baghdad - everyday, for the rest of his days.
Let the people say their peace, but don't kill him.  Saddam doesn't want to die and he's terrorized by the very things he's spent his life perpetrating on innocent people.  Let him continue in his terror.
It's a much more fitting punishment.

Yes, today is a great day and I am very happy for the people of Iraq.
I hope their hearts are light, but there are many more bridges to
cross, and even burn.  I hope the hold outs who still want to fight
for Saddam will lay down their arms and say,
"Enough!"

I hope the truth will now be told and Saddam will tell us what we
need to know to find the WMD, the al Qaeda hideouts and camps,
and maybe even more of the al Qaeda long-term plans.

Congratulations to the troops who accomplished this deed today.
I appreciate the sacrifice you are making to provide us with a more safe and secure world.  I appreciate the risks you are taking and the hardships you endure.  The words "thank you" do not even begin to make it all worth it, but I'm sure it helps.

I was eating in a restaurant on Friday, near a military base.  A fellow
in fatigues passed by me and I took the opportunity to grab his
sleeve and I just softly said,
"Thank you, Solider."
His response was just as muted, saying,
"You are very welcome."
Few words, but much, much more expressed.  Both of us got a little misty, but walked our separate ways.

Our President is to speak later this morning.  I'm sure his feelings will be much the same.  I am just thankful we have a president who has stayed the course and will continue to do so, no matter what his opposition throws at him.

Thank you, Mr. President!
