BY THE STY

Poor Peter Pig
Had grown so big
He couldn’t even move around.
He found it hard
In the barnyard
To lose a solitary pound.

He’d come to dread
Being well fed,
But there were scraps everywhere.
A glutton, too,
What could he do
Except to eat more than his share?

Pete couldn’t run,
He had no fun,
Was teased by other animals.
This made him sad,
He felt real bad,
Because he hadn’t any pals.

But then he met
The household pet,
A furry white Angora cat
That made him sneeze,
Cough, choke and wheeze,
But didn’t mind if Pete was fat.
