The Behavior of a Rabbit really depends on how they were treated and brought up as a baby, but some of it is just how they are! For example some rabbits love chewing on cords, however mine doesn't. Some perfer cage bars instead, however both are damaging to a rabbit. Most males spray urine to mark their territory but I've heard of a few that don't, as well as females spraying, which isn't really that common.
Toys can be used to distract rabbits from behaving badly. If your rabbits loves to chew cords then you could provide it with something safe to chew on instead. This generally works but not always. Also if your rabbit loves to dig at the carpet, or his litter you could provide newpapers to shread instead. Here are some toys which can be given to a rabbit:
You can put treats in this ball and as the rabbits rolls it around the treats slowly drop out! It's fun and rewarding.
This toy is a 3 in 1 play experience. It's a rattle, a crunchy chew, and a toss toy. This is great for entertaining for your rabbit!
Be creative! You don't have to spend money to have fun with your rabbit. From a little experience I noticed my rabbit enjoys hiding in large paper bags, shreading newspaper, and..well..jumping on my dog! Although I'm sure that's just his personality. Which again is a unique part of his behavior! Some rabbit like rolling around balls too. So try things out and I'm sure you'll find something fun for both of you. |
