As with any religion, Witches have laws that we must adhere to. The most important, and probably considered the central part of our belief system, if the Wiccan Rede, 'An ye harm none, do as thou will'. This means that you may live your life however you chose, so long as you harm no one (and this includes not hurting yourself too). Well, this may sound easy, but it's not as easy as you may think. The more you learn the Craft, the more difficult you will find it to 'harm none'... for instance, to do a love spell with someone in particular in mind (say Jesse wanted Peter. If Jesse was to do a love spell to make him fall in love with her, then she just went against the Wiccan Rede. Why? Because, she hurt Peter's will to make his own decisions. She forced him to go against himself and to fall in love with her (or at least she tried to). So, following the Wiccan Rede may be harder than one thinks. That sort of brings me to another Wiccan law... The Rule of Three (or the Three-fold Law). You've probably heard the saying, "What goes around, comes arounds..." Well, that saying is almost what this rule is completely about. The rule means that, whatever you send out, whether it is good or bad, it WILL eventually come back to you three-fold (three times more powerful). I have added some more "rules" and "laws" in my Book of Shadows section. |
