Two years into the Civil War, and Eden LaGrand is quietly involved in the Cause. Working in an orphanage provides a cover for rebel activity, but Eden does care what happens to the children staying there. When Reverend Logan Matthews shows up, while orphanage director Adrian Forrester is away, Eden sees his arrival as a godsend. He appears just in time to prevent two yankee soldiers from doing further damage.

Logan is a government agent, looking for clues to the whereabouts of his missing brother. An arms shipment was attacked and Braden was shot. Logan has no idea where his brother is, or if he's even alive. He does know Adrian Forrester is somehow connected to the theft. In his guise as a reverend, Logan becomes fond of the youngsters in the orphanage and is attracted to Eden. He's hoping Eden isn't involved in the rebel activities. Can Eden protect her heart from the attractive reverand? Will the orphanage survive conspiracies?

Bobbi Smith has several books to her credit, but this reviewer believes Eden is her best to date. With the Civil War tapestry, and the usual romance, she's added an orphanage of youngsters who will tug at your heart. These youngsters are no strangers to hardship and are thankful for the help they get from Eden and Logan. There's no doubt they add a special touch to the plot.

Be sure to add Eden to your reading list. You'll find it tempting.
