...And what's up with the people who mow their lawn with a riding mower, and then pay $30 per month or $50 per month to belong to a fitness center??  why not get your butt off that mower and walk behind a push mower? Yes, that's right; not one of those powered mowers, either, but a reel mower! the kind which cuts grass just as well as a gasoline-powered or an electric mower, but is whisper-quiet, uses no finite fossil fuels, and is non-polluting as well!  But, why stop there?  Why not go on to replace that noisy gasoline/oil mixture powered weed-eater with a pair of hand-operated clippers to do the trimming? Now you have an exercise routine that easily replaces the treadmill machine and whatever machine that you use to exercise your hands and biceps.  Just be sure to switch the clippers to your other non-dominant hand to ensure a balanced routine!  This may not eliminate your need to attend a fitness center, but it is an easy way to save money on gas and costly repairs to powered lawn equipment.

And while we're on the topic of lawns, why do homeowners go to the trouble of having their lawn "aeriated" by using a "plug machine"?  This service is totally unnecessary and is a real hazard when using any small lawn mowing equipment because the plugs are left on top of the ground, which make for an extremely bumpy lawn to mow, not to mention the hard rocks they turn into when they dry out, making it literally a pain in the ass to sit on the lawn, anymore.
   HOMEOWNERS TAKE NOTE:  there is
right now a no-cost and environmentally safe alternative to aeriate your lawn.  It is called "earthworms"!  That's right, the 'lowly' earthworm aeriates your lawn at 'no cost' to you.  This doesn't come without a price, however.  The price is to give up using polluting chemicals which supposedly 'green' your lawn by killing unwanted 'ugly weeds.'  Come on, now.  How did you like it when you were in grade school and hoped that you would be chosen to be on the 'favorite team' but instead of you the 'elite' chose the beautiful people?
Dandelion plants and flowers are not the notorious, noxious weeds that the chemical fertilizer corporations make them out to be!  Just last month in my local health food store I saw organic dandelion greens for sale at
$1.59 a bunch! Imagine fetching that price for a cast-off weed! Hungry people willingly paying for something that you spend your dollars on trying to kill!  Not only that, but those chemicals put on the plants don't just go away, but leach into the soil harming other living creatures, one of which is the earthworm.  That unpaid animal, which works to keep the soil aeriated and will do so as long as no one poisons the ground in a misguided attempt to 'beautify' their lawn, asks us only to keep their world clean.  Would you stay in a home where the previous owner went around spraying weed-killer into the carpet? Perhaps you would.  Not me.  Would you buy a shirt if the label said, "WARNING: Chemically treated fabric! Do not wear this garment until AFTER it is washed!"? Not me. I'd stay far away, just like earthworms do.
