Our Home Away From Home

Camping is a great way to see this wonderful country of ours and meet new friends. At this stage in our lives we're past the age that sleeping on the ground is fun ... been there, done that (back packing, then 4x6, then 9x12 tents), then to a Jayco pop-up trailer, then a 29-ft Aluma-Lite travel trailer, and now have a 30-ft Terry 5th wheel. We've been members of the Garland Sams since 1985 (a local chapter of the Good Sam organization) and are seriously thinking about full-timing when we retire.

Trip Planning

When we leave our neighborhood and travel down the Highway to explore America and Canada, we like to check the WWW Speedtrap Registry. Of course we need to know how to get there, so we get directions from MapQuest. You can also check out Fodor's or Roadside America which are all great places for planning your trips.

Full Timing It

We're just a few years away from realizing our dream of full timing and seeing the wonders of both the U.S. and Canada. To find out about full timing, visit the following full timers' pages (a few aren't full timers, but they sure take extended trips in their RVs):
Tim & Deanna Scott & Debbie Dick and Phyllis Jim & Carole
Ron & Linda Dale & Sue Graham Family of 4 Tony & Faye
Dave & Nancy Bryce & Lisa Rex & Shairon Norm & Frieda
Fred & Sandy John & Mandy Ron & Barb Tom & Kay

    Campgrounds

When we travel we camp in many of our National Parks and public campgrounds, but there is also a whole system of private resort memberships available to the avid camper. We have been members of
Coast to Coast Resorts/Campgrounds and their affiliated Good Neighbor Parks since 1984 which consists of approximately 450 resort/campgrounds and 205 parks and also belong to Resort Parks International since 1990 which consists of approximately 347 resorts/campgrounds. Our home park is Suncountry Resort in Whitney, Texas which is 30 miles north of Waco. If you're ever in the area and want more information about resort membership, call them at 817-694-4037 and should you decide to join the resort family, please tell them that Ed & Linda Dolby referred you.
