Hello, First of all, I'd like to congratulate you about your MAGNIFICENT web-side of Aruba on the Internet. It is really the most complete personnel site I found about aruba. During the month of july I go for the first time to Aruba for 2 weeks on vacation with my wife and my 2 children (a baby of 10 months and a boy of 7 years old). Can you tell me something more about :
    1. Are the beaches so beautifull as seen on the pictures (White and clean white sands and cristall bleu water) ???
    2. Can you tell me something more about the Wyndham Resort were we booked for Two weeks ???
3.If you have any tips for our vacations or attractions for the childrens on Aruba, can you also tell me ???
    4. Can you tell me where I can found more pictures of Aruba on the Internet and if you know where I can buy some video footage about this island ???
Thank you very much for your answer and hope to read you soon, ERIC

    MY ANSWER

    Hi Eric!
Sorry about the delay in relpying to your mail! Thanks for the compliments on my web site! I try to keep it one of the best sites available. Here are some answers youv'e been looking for:
    1. Yes! The beaches are EXTREMELY beautiful!!! I've done alot of traveling and I have yet to see beaches that beautiful. The sand (at 90% of the resorts) is pure tiny grains of white sand that feels like powder. Some parts of the beach, however, can get slightly more rocky than others. Also, the water is just as beautiful.
    2. The Wyndham Resort is on a good strip of Palm beach and has 3 restaurants, a casino and watersports activities. I have never stayed there, so i cannot tell you about the rooms.
    3. This is what I've told many others, as far as sight seeing is concerned:
There are lots of things to see in Aruba, including:
    The Natural Bridge
    Baby Beach
    The Rock Formations
    The Gold Mine Ruins
    The Chapel of Alto Vista
    The California Lighthouse &
    The Caves
Just driving around the island is a neat experience! On your way you will most likely see goats roaming around, the beautiful scenery, and even some homes which are very colorful.
Also, as of recently, the island is trying to accommodate to kids more, because more and more, parents are bringing their kids, as opposed to leaving them home. There are also miniture golf courses and hotles with game rooms for kids (ex: the Playa Linda, La Cabana, etc...).
    4. For more photos, You can visit all the links you find, not only from my site, but from others. Also, For video, you can call up some of the resorts themselves. I know a few years back, The Playa Linda shot a video for their customers. I'm sure if you call and talked to management, you could request a copy at little or NO charge to you. You could also act as if you are really interested in staying at the resort you call, then ask them if they have any videos they can send you, so you can see what their place is like. Often, those promotional videos include shots of other places on the island that tourists would like to go see. If you are unsuccessful with that, I can make you a copy of either a personal video of mine or the one Playa Linda distributed a few years ago.
I really hope this has helped you!
Please, let me know if you were able to attain any video copies. Also, feel free to ask any other questions you may have! Thanks again,
    Jennifer

UPDATE: There are video's of ARUBA available on the net at: www.travelvideo.com/Aruba.htm. You can purchase a copy from them directly by going to this site! The cost is $16.95+$4 S/H.

hi from eastern canada, going to aruba in jan/98,any tips, suggestions, warnings, what about food (restaurant prices U.S.$)thanx

    MY ANSWER

Hello! Thanks for visiting my aruba page! I have two versions of my page on the web and, unfortunately, one of them (the one linked from Wagner College) is not up to date. If this was the page you visited, then please try: www.oocities.org/TheTropics/5640
This is the current and UPDATED page. You might get a better answer to your question there. Make sure you see the second Aruba page... http://www.oocities.org/TheTropics/5640/Aruba2.html ...it has some more suggestions (from others that have been there too) as to warnings and food - like what restaurants to go to and avoid.

Anyway, Aruba has your three basic types of restaurants/places to eat:
    (U.S. Currency)

    1) Cheap - $
    2) Moderate - $$
    3) Expensive - $$$

The cheap($) ones vary from McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Taco Bell, to Subway. Same as here in the states. These are (for the most part) local to the hotel strip. Then you have your moderately priced ($$) places to eat, such as El Patio (which is a native restaurant with lots of native types of foods) and there is another but I cannot remember the name of it. Other moderately priced places to dine is "Senior Frogs" - very very nice atmosphere there!! Also, Houlahans (not sure of the spelling - but we have them here in the states as well). Then you have your more expensive places($$$) ... not to mention that they are alot nicer, better food, service, etc... These include "La Petite Cafe" (there are 2 on the island - and very worth the $$$!! ), "La Turina" - great for steak lovers and "La Paloma" - great Italian food.

I hope this has or will help you. Keep in mind that when I categorize in terms of $(cheap), $$(moderate), and $$$(Expensive) that it also depends on a person's finiancial condition when they get to Aruba ... If you've got lots of money to blow (or you hit it big in a casino), then you might not feel like the $$$ category is "EXPENSIVE". I have just listed them like this as a general guide for all.

I thank you for your e-mail, as you have reminded me that I wanted to create an Aruba "FAQ" addition to my site! Your's will be the first FAQ!
    :)
If you have any other questions (even after reviewing my UPDATED site), just send me another e-mail!
Hope you enjoy Aruba and Good luck in the casinos!!

    -Jennifer

    Hello Jennifer,
Nice Aruba web-site. I would like to visit a friend in Aruba in the near future. Do you know which airline is the best (cheapest) from Atlanta to Aruba. Are you familiar with specail offers or something like that?
    Thanks a lot
    Leo

    MY ANSWER

Hi Leo and thanks for the e-mail!
Ok, here's what I can tell you about the airlines: I have been flying "Air Aruba" for the past 7 years (They are only about 7 or 8 years old). Since I go to Aruba in the month of August, I will give you the information that applies to me.

First - Air Aruba has a special offer. If you fly with them 5 times, they give you the 6th trip for free. Since I go alot - this deal is good for me. However, this will not help those that only want to go once.

Second - From Newark Airport( N.J.), the flight (round trip) costs me about $430 dollars with a travel agent. If you would rather deal directly with Air Aruba it will probably cost a little more ($450 or more). I think that one can get the cheapest deal with Travel Dimensions (located: Boston, Mass. #1-800-445-4714).

This is pretty much what I know. You could try Travel Dimensions and see what they can offer you or even call Air Aruba.

I am adding this e-mail to my new "Aruba FAQ's Page". Please check it in the future - If I get any new airline info I will post it there!!

I hope this information can help you. Good Luck finding a good deal and have fun on your visit!
    -Jennifer
