The
3 Levels of Spiritual Gifts

In
1 Corinthians 12 and
Ephesians 4 we find
the Gifts that Jesus gave the Body after his Ascension.There is three levels
of gifts for the body to help it grow to maturity, level one is the gifts
that all believers have which is found in 1
Cor 12: 8-10. We will start with the 4th verse,
1 Cor 12:4-6."Now
there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit(Gifts
for all). And there are differences of administrations, but the
same Lord(ministry gifts).And there are diversities
of operations, but it is the same God(governmental
gifts)which worketh all in all.".
Now in this verse we see the 3 levels or chain of command for the gifts,and
its no coincidence that they follow in this order ether. The first level
is as follows and as I have stated are for all believers for the profit
of all.
These 9 gifts of the
Spirit are categorized in 3 different ways,the first is the Revelational
Gifts which is the Word
of Wisdom,Word of Knowlledge and the Discerning of Spirits.
The second category is the Vocal Gifts
which are, the
Gift of Tongues,Interpretation of Tongues and the Gift of Prophecy.
The third category is the Power
Gifts which
are the Gift of Faith,the Gifts of Healing
and the Gift of Miracles.
Most of these 9 gifts of the Spirit work
together or hand in hand. 1 Cor 12: 8-10,For
to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of
knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another
the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles;
to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers
kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
No lets look at these gifts individually,the first is the gift of the Word
of Wisdom,this deals with future
events.It is the ability to by the Holy Spirit to see in to the future
in a given situation or in to a believers life.Two examples are,
Acts 11:28"And there stood up one of them named Agabus,
and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout
all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar." and
21:10-11"And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea
a certain prophet, named Agabus. And when he was come unto us, he took
Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the
Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this
girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.".
The next gift is the word of knowledge,
which deals with the ability to see into the past or present in a given
situation or believers life.Two examples are
Acts 5:3"But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan
filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the
price of the land?" and 10:19-20"While Peter thought on the vision, the
Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.Arise therefore, and
get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.".
The next gift is Faith,
now this is a gift to Believer for Supernatural Manifestations of the Spirit
in a given situation or believers life. Two examples are,Acts
12:7"And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined
in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying,
Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands."and
20:9-10"And there sat in a window a certain
young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was
long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft,
and was taken up dead. And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing
him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.".
The next gift is the Gifts of healing
,now notice that this gift is
plural meaning mean types of healing for all sicknesses. Two examples are,
andActs 3:6-7"Then Peter
said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the
name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.And he took him by the
right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones
received strength." and
9:33-34"And there he found a certain man named
Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise,
and make thy bed. And he arose immediately."
The next gift is the working of miracles,
which is a Manifestation of the Power to change physical situations for
the Glory of God in a given situation or in a believers life. Two examples
are, Acts 9:17-18"And Ananias went his way,
and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother
Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou
camest, hath sent me, that thou mightiest receive thy sight, and be filled
with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had
been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized."and
16:25-26"
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and
sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.And suddenly there
was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken:
and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed."
The next gift is the gift of prophecy,
now just because a person prophecies does not make him a Prophet,which
we will examine later in this study. This gift is just the speaking for
of an exhortation to build up a person or the body in a meeting and can
verify the Word of God (bible) and warn of events to come, so the body
might prepare.Two examples are,Acts 11:28"And
there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that
there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass
in the days of Claudius Caesar." and 20:23 "Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth
in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me." The
next gift is the gift of the discerning
of spirits,which
is the ability by the Spirit to distinguish between the spirits,whether
they are man's spirit or a evil spirit's or the Holy Spirit acting through
a individual.
