Story Time Met the Wilkinsons?
I was getting in the hotel room and I was with a babysitter while my parents and friends of theirs went downstairs to watch a concert. At the time, since I rarely go to any concerts, I perked up at this news. "What concert?" I asked. My mom just stared and said, "Oh. I think the group's name is called...The Wilkinsons." I nodded carefully taking this in. I hadn't heard of this group and they sounded interesting. After my parents left, the babysitter and her friend and my two sisters and I all had a great time. The next morning I walked up to my mom and dad and asked casually, "How was the concert?" My dad replied, "it was fantastic!" My mom added her enthusiasm. "I think you'd like them, Christina. They're playing again tonight. We all can go again. It's free too." "Great!" I exclaimed. If the Wilkinsons' were really as good as my parents described them, they were bound to be even better! I put on some pants and a shirt for getting ready for the concert. When we filed into the room where it was being held, I said to my friend Bridgit, "This is so cool. Let's sit in the very front up there. It's like only two inches away from Amanda's shoe!" Bridget replied, "Awesome. Let's sit there!" So we sat in the front so close that during the show Amanda saw me drinking a raspberry drink and I had two and she said, "Ooooh. That looks great." I just smiled so hard. Then at the end of the perfect show, Amanda was signing my C.D. when I gave her the extra raspberry drink. She was so happy I couldn't believe it. It was one of the best nights of my life! I'll always remember it! Now I take singing lessons from a professional teacher with 72 students and me as the 3rd all because of the WIlkinsons', especially Amanda, inspired me. By: Christina At fan fair 2000, the wilkinsons were performing that night at tower records. So I went with my aunt and my cousins to see them, because they did such a wonderful job at fan fair that day and I wanted to get all the wilkinson-action I could see that week. so after they performed, they went to sign autographs and my family and I left to go get them a bouquet of daisies with a rose in it (that song is our favorite). Well, low and behold, no damn florist shops were open, so we ended up driving all over and found a kroger and had to stop there. We found what we needed, even though it was the uglies pot of daisies.....but still a very beautiful rose. When we were going back to tower records we got lost and it took us forever to get back. When we finally got there, I thought the place was closed, but the doors were open so we went inside anyways. The Wilkinsons were leaving from their singing and I saw Tyler walking away and I shouted, "Hey, wait! please wait just one more second! I have something for you guys!". He smiled and we walked over to the rest of their family and I handed it to steve and they were like "uh..." and then amanda goes "Oooh, look..I seeee...there's a rose" and together her and tyler sang "In a field that's full of daisies, you're the only rose" as they pointed at the flower. and steve goes, "that's not in my key" (I thought that was really funny). Then amanda gave me a hug, I was so happy! Then the next day at their fan club party they told that story about us and steve played the song, which was really cool...it was beautiful. welp, that's my experience...peace, I'm outie -Kell (Roly's Review) I went to see The Wilkinsons on November 21/00 at The Show Place in Peterborough, Ontario. It was a great concert! I am proud to say that it was an all Canadian concert!! First Adam Gregory opened. He was amazing! I really enjoyed listening to him. Then Amanda Stott came out and performed. She too is really talented and was awesome! Then.... THE WILKINSONS!! They came out and were on the longest (obviously!) because they were the main attraction. I would love to have met them, but although I didn't get to, just being there and watching them in person was a wonderful feeling. Now when I see them on T.V., I can say, 'I've seen them live!' . Even though it was the 2nd concert I have ever been to in my whole life, I think it'll always be the best!! I LOVE THE WILKINSONS!! (Jessica's Encounter) Hi! Okay here is the 2nd Happiest Day of My life in order of events........Okay Friday I got ready in my red shirt(for tyler) and khaki shorts with myspecial silver eyemakeup That Dave Moffatt said he liked! (in case yourwondering the day i met the Moffatts is the 1st Happiest day of My life)I couldnt eat any thing cuz I was so hyper cuz I LOVE concerts! Okay thenmy Grandma came an got me and took me to her friend Mikes House (the guythat got the tickets) I was really really antsy but it was only 6:00 andthe concert started at 8:00. So I waited for my grandma to get ready (shelives with mike, but theyre not involved she hates him!LOL) okay then WeFINALLY got in the car and drove to St.Charles, On the radio they keptsaying "and later today at the Family arena, Collin Raye Ty Herdon and TheWilkinsons..."and I was getting really hyper and singing Dixie Chicks songs at the top ofmy lungs (my throat still hurts!)When we got there There was HUGE balloons that saidKix 106.5 welcomes Collin Raye!i was like what about the wilkinsons!!!!!!and we had to drive a long long way through a huge parking lot because wewere early we got good parking space!!!yeah for us Okay moving on... Mike isfriends with a guy from WIL fm 92 radio station and he walked off andstarted talking to the guy then Me and My grandma went to register forbackstage pases. Okay then mike came over and had something in his hand andhe gave it to me I looked at it and Screamed!!!1he got me a backstage pass!he said "well that was the last one... Youre Lucky!"I was like "WHAT ! what do you mean I have to go by myself?!!!!!""yep youre on your own kid" Oh man was I nervous, Mike said I had to go tothe left stage at 7:45 to meet them they were meeting before the concert. itwas like 7:30 and I was freaking out! we went in side and looked for ourseats then Mike said I want to get a picture of you before you go back. Thenthats when we found out the Camera broke!!!! I wasnt to upset I was tonervous!okay then i stood in line and said goodbye to my grandma and Mike ,i followed the other people down a LONG LONG hallway, and then I was rightin the doorway and I could hear Amanda talking! suddenly i felt like theultimate teeny bopper so I calmed myself down with deep breaths.Lol theyworked thank god because the Line moved and i could see them standing theresigning autographs Tyler was hopping up and down cuz i guess he was excitedfor the show to start! I guess he felt me burning holes in his head with myeyes cuz he turned and looked at the line and I smiled really big and hesmiled back at me,then turned to a fan who was giving him a present I cursedat myself for not getting that stuffed Yoda for him, anyway then when the people in front of me were talking to him and taking picutres and gettingautos I turned and looked at the Photagrapher who was DAve there manager! Ishook his hand and talked to him , then it was MY TURN! steve was first andI was super hyper friendly! oaky here goes my convo!!!"Hi I'm Jessica!" shaking steve's hand."Hi nice to meet you How are you?" said steve."I'm great thanks" I said handing him my picture to sign, then turned toTyler, :"Hi i'm Jess'ca!""Hi nice to meet ya!" he said shaking my hand"Hi amanda! i'm Jess" shaking her hand,:"Hi how are ya! " she smiled"Fine thanks!except for the fact that my camera broke!""oh isnt that always how it is!!! Cameras always break or run out offilm!!"Tyler said"yeah every concert I go to they just break on me!:" I said not true but Iwas in heaven so whatever came out of my mouth was whatever!"well tahts why you need to get a disposable camera!" Tyler saidAmanda was signing now she was last."yeah from now on Disposable cameras are my best friends!" I said"Oh yeah their ours too!" Tyler said."We cant function with regular cameras!"Amanda saidI laughed"well bye guys!see ya!" I said"Bye"said steve "See ya have fun" said Ty"Bye enjoy the concert:" said Amandaand I walked out of the roomand waved at the Rodeys who were drinking cofee then i skipped down thehallway.when I got to my grandma I started crying cuz I was sooo happy! and tryingto tell her what happened then a lady asked me if i met them and I wassmiling and the tears were coming then i was getting mad at myself forcrying so i wiped my eyes then i talked to the lady for about 20 minutes andtold her everything,then we went and sat down and The Wilkinsons were firstof course they were the opening act. the concert was awsome thay sang alot of new songs "Jimmy,Hypothectically,Shame,One of us is in Love, plus 26cents, Fly, Dont I have a heart and some song i dont know, Tyler lookedsuper cute in camoflauge khaki pants and a long sleeved black shirt, Amandahad a SParkly sequened red shirt and black pants,and steve was wearing an Orange button up shirt with funky designs, Did you know Amanda is sooo cutecuz shes so short! lol or maybe I'm just Tall! I'm 5'8 now.Anyway They wereawsome! but their set only lasted an hour then i was really hungry so I atelike one nacho and then thought i was gonna throw up cuz I get sick from thesmell of beer and there was alot of ppl drinking beer!!!Ty Herdons Concert lasted an hour I almost fell asleep, even though hes veryhot and was wearing leather pants, I he sang my fav song "is she there inyour dreams? I dont know I cant sleep... Is she breakin your heart...yeahbut isnt it sweet..Does she know how you feel?...well its right on the tipof my tounge..."oaky i'm done. Then Collin Raye put on the most awsome show I've ever seenhes hilarious!well he went on till 1:00 am and then we left we go to Denny's to eat at 2:30 am because of a traffic jam. then we got home at 3:45and I couldnt sleep. Lol finally i went to sleep at 4:00 am and woke up at 8:00 am! All i can
say is WOW!! They are amazing performers!! I saw them lst night in
Edmonton, I was right up at the stage, these guys are so into the
crowd!! Everyone kept yelling, I love you Tyler!! and Amanda would go,
you should see him in the morning! lol, it was cute!! Well that's all i
can say, I'm still recovering from last nite! (d*** Tyler is cute!!) Forth Worth, Texas- April 10th, 1999 (Billy Bob's) When I first heard that the Wilkinsons were coming to Fort Worth I had only heard Fly(the angel song). As you can guess I wasn't really a fan at that point. Since I liked the song I had heard, I decided to buy the Nothing But Love album. I honestly fell in love with the CD, even though I'm not a big fan of country music. My mom asked what I wanted for Easter and I told her that I would love to go to the concert, so she bought two tickets(Section A, Row 5, Seats 5&6). So since I had no clue who the Wilkinsons were, the day before and the day of the concert, I got onto the internet to surf on the few sites about the Wilkinsons that I had found. Being totally honest, there is not that much about them out there. Anyway, I started getting scared, because everything I saw said,"Tyler is hot!", and from the pictures I had seen, I hadn't seen anything hot about him(before you get mad at me for saying that finish the story, please!) This one girl said that she got to hug him and I was literally in total disgust. So to get to the good stuff, we left the house about 8:00pm because the concert was at 10:30pm and we had to go to K-mart and plus on top of that, it took an hour to get to Fort Worth. When we went to K-mart my mom bought the cassette of Nothing But Love to listen to in the car. After the hour of driving and almost getting lost, we finally made it to Billy Bob's. We had about a half an hour to spare, so we bought a black, tour shirt and walked around the place because it is huge! They have video games and everything. A couple of minutes before the show, we decided to find our seats. Even though the concert was suppose to start at 10:30pm, it really didn't start until around 10:40(wow a whole 10 minutes:) Anyway when the concert began it was great. TYLER IS REALLY CUTE WHEN YOU SEE HIM UP CLOSE AND IN PERSON(we were on his side of the stage). I had told my mom that I didn't think he was cute earlier that week, so right when he came on stage, she poked me in the side and said,"He is really cute!" During the very first song he looked at me(boy oh boy he looked at me....oh, sorry:) and she started poking me again. It was so cute coming from a 34-year-old(oops, sorry mom:). To highlight the concert, they played all of the songs on Nothing But Love, except 'The Word', which is one of my favorites. Some really memorable things in the show were: of course, when Tyler looked at me(he did a lot), then during 26¢, this girl that was sitting in front of me went up and gave Tyler a rose and 26¢(awwwww!), at one point Amanda couldn't get her water bottle open, so she made Tyler do it, then Amanda and Tyler started dancing like those people do when that guy has a rose in his mouth, plus in 'Back on my Feet' where Tyler sings 'Back on, Back on', he forgot to sing the first verse and had to join in on the second, towards the end of the show they did this medley of old rock'n'roll classics, and Steve was suppose to sing and forgot, so Tyler stopped what he was doing and just pointed at his dad. One thing that I learned about Tyler is that when he's on stage, he acts like Taylor Hanson without a keyboard. He will jump up and down a lot and say stuff like,"Are you guys really to rock this house?". So after the concert they were going to come out and sign autographs, so we waited in line. At one point the guy said that they weren't going to give out autographs, so almost everyone in line left to go to the backstage area. I stayed in line, so I was about tenth in line at that point. About 30-45 minutes later they finally decided to come out and give autographs. When it was my turn I gave my picture to Amanda and she said," Hi, how's everything going?" It was really cool because I felt like I knew her, which was really weird. Anyway I told her my name and right when she got finished writing the second L in my name, she stopped, pushed the picture over to Tyler, let him see it, then finished writing my name and then wrote "Love Peace" and then signed her name. When Tyler signed it he didn't even look up. At that point I was afraid to say hi because I was scared I was going to call him Taylor on accident. Then finally Steve signed it, handed it to me and said,"Here you go, Michelle." One thing I forgot to put in was even though Tyler didn't look at me when he was signing my picture, he did see me in line and glanced at me, so that was pretty cool. When we were leaving, my mom was freaking out again because I didn't say hi to Tyler. Other than that the concert was awesome and it was an experience I will never forget.
