Gods and Goddesses of the Ancient Egyptians.
AMENTET
Goddess of the west.  Welcomes the dead to the underworld.

AMUN
"The Hidden One".  Originally a god of the wind and the breath of life, he eventually became the sun god at Thebes (called Amun-Ra).  Shown with the head or horns of a ram.

ANHUR
Warrior and hunter god.  Depicted as a warrior with a plumed headdress.

ANUBIS
God of embalming and the funerary rites.  Shown with the head of a jackal.

APEP
A great serpent which tried to destroy the sun each day.

ATEN
The disc of the sun.

ATUM
A sun god and creator of the universe.  Father of Tefnut and Shu.  Local god of Heliopolis.
BAST (Bastet)
Cat headed goddess of protection and of course, cats!  Worshipped at Bubastis.

BES
Dwarf god.  Protective deity associated with dance, music, fertility and pleasure.

BUTO
The main goddess of the Egyptian delta and protector of the Egyptian king.  She is associated with serpents and snakes.

CHONS (Khonsu)
God of the moon.  "Master of Time"  Depicted as a mummy with a child's side lock.

DUAMUTEF
One of the four sons of Horus.  He protected the stomach of the deceased.

GEB
"The Green Man".  God of the earth, depicted as green skinned with a goose on his head.

HAPI
Personification of the Nile.  Depicted as a plump man with a crown of aquatic plants.

HATHOR
Goddess of joy and love.  Originally a sky goddess, she became protector of women and was depicted as a cow or a woman with a solar disc between cow's horns on her head.  Her cult centre was Dendera.

HEKET
Goddess of childbirth, shown with a frog's head.  The frog was a symbol of life and fertility.

HORUS
Son of Osiris and Isis.  God of the "all-seeing eye".  Usually depicted as a man with a falcon's head.  Has many different manifestations.

IMHOTEP
God of medicine.  Raised from mortality to god status.

IMSETI
One of the four sons of Horus.  Guarded the liver of the deceased.

ISIS
Mother goddess of fertility and magick.  Wife and sister of Osiris.  A well loved deity who was worshipped well into the Roman era.  She was depicted as a woman crowned with a throne or the solar disc between cow's horns.

KHEPRI
The sacred scarab beetle.  Associated with the rising sun.

KHNUM
Ram headed creator god, often portrayed at a potter's wheel.  His consort is Hekat therefore he is often associated with childbirth.
