Current Projects
I am currently working on my first book, a historical account of the contributions of Irish immigrants to the founding, growth, and development of the United States. I got the idea while doing genealogical research of my own family history, which includes some famous and fascinating important historical figures.

I hope to complete the book in the next year and am currently seeking a publisher.

The book is tentatively titled Red, White, and Green.

I have posted a few brief excerpts from the research and preliminary writing I have done on the book. These particular sections all have to do with my more interesting ancestors, and are actually based on a project I did on my Family History while at St. Joe's.

These relatives include:

Thomas Fitzsimmons (sometimes spelled Fitzsimons), who left Ireland to come to the United States and who was a signer of the United States Constitution and who was also an early American industrialist and the father of the policy of protection to American industries;

George G. Meade, who was one of the most successful of the Civil War's Union generals and led the Union to victory at Gettysburg; and

Bryon Fitzsimmons, a forerunner of "muckraking journalism" from the early 1930's who helped expose corruption and civil injustice before dieing mysteriously while conducting a "secret" investigation of the country's mental asylums.
