The Thunder Bay Broomball Association held its 3nd Annual All-Star game on Saturday April 2nd. The All-Star weekend marked the end of a long season. The game featured many of the leagues top players, but there was also a few of this year's standouts absent from the game.

The game was a wildly offensive matchup. Despite the shortened benches, the players did not disappoint as they continually put the ball into the net. The red side opened up a 3 goal lead early into the 2nd half only to see the green team come back to force the 2nd all-star tie in 3 years.

Dan Lavoie opened the scoring just 2 minutes into the game, and after Chuck Carpenter tied the game, Dan Lavoie scored his 2nd to give the green side a 2-1 lead. Glen Gilberds tallied his first of 2 goals on the night at the 13:14 mark evening the game at 2. Jolene Tocheri and Bruno Digiacinto each scored before the half to make the score 3-3 after 25 minutes of play.

The 2nd half started with 3 unanswered goals by Glen Gilberds, Janet Napash and Bruno Digiacinto to give red a 6-3 lead. Darryl Ilkew and Dan Lavoie responded to make the score 6-5 before Dave Stewart restored a 2 goal red advantage.

The green side again came back as goals by Jolene Tocheri and Denise Brown tied the game at 7 apiece. Kurtis Malo gave the red side the 8-7 lead only to see Angela Bruining tie the score 17 seconds later. Both teams had chances to score late in the game, but both goalies stood tall to preserve the tie

The game saw 2 penalty shots as Brad Proud turned away Bruno Digiacinto and Shawn Reilly stopped Paul Niccoli. Each of the players put on a good show for those that came out to watch. There was a lot of fine passing mixed in with a few nice goals and a few fine defensive efforts. All of the goaltenders played strong and despite being bombarded with shots, they both managed to come up with a few amazing saves.
