GINGER
zingiber officinale perennial plant Native to tropical Asia. Cultivated in other tropical areas especially Jamaica. Aromatic, knotty rootstock is thick, fibrous, whitish or buff colored. Produces simple leafy stem covered with leaf sheaths of the lanceolate-oblong to linear leaves. Plant reaches height of 3-4 feet. Leaves growing 6-112 unches long.
