A very big CONGRATULATIONS to Tia and Simon on their new addition!

They welcomed their first baby, a girl whom they named Bianca, on Sunday morning. She's absolutely adorable and already has a full head of soft black hair. At this time her eyes appear to be a sort of grey/hazel color. Only time will tell who she will take after in the looks department. I predict that she will be a perfect blend of both and will be an exotic-looking beauty.

Mother, father and baby are all doing well and will be home soon.

I thought today (Mother's Day here in the U.S.) would the be the most appropriate day to make a special announcement. I'm happy to finally share that Tia and Simon are expecting! They should be welcoming an adorable baby girl in September later this year. Congratulations to the couple and Happy Mother's Day to all of you mother's out there.

Hello, everyone. Apologies for the long hiatus and lack of updates to this page. Fortunately I've been very busy with my own work, so I haven't been able to dedicate any of my free time here. I just wanted to put up a quick post to let everyone know that I will be making a big announcement here soon. So keep your eyes peeled. :)

There's a new magazine out called Audrey. It's an Asian beauty, celebrity, fashion and lifestyle magazine. The current issue (March/April 2003, Vol. 1, No. 1) features actress Tamlyn Tomita on the cover (pictured right). There's a nice photo of Tia posing with The View's Lisa Ling at the Second Annual Remy Martin Concert of Excellence at Carnegie Hall last November. As you may recall, Tia was there to present an award to co-star Jason Scott Lee (see Oct. 7 post)

It's finally my pleasure to formally announce that Tia will be tying the knot with her beau, Simon. The private ceremony will be held in Southern California (exact location will be posted after the wedding for obvious reasons) on New Year's Eve. No guests will be attending; just the couple, a priest and a tripod for the video camera. =)

Those of you who keep a close eye on this “News" section of the Tia's Paradise website will recall a special congratulatory message posted to Tia on Nov. 16. That's when Simon, the groom-to-be, got down on one knee and popped the question.

Simon and Tia met nearly a year ago. He is a journalist from London who was on assignment to interview the Relic Huntress for his publication. As luck would have it, soon after Tia completed filming for Relic Hunter in Europe, Simon was asked if he would be interested in relocating to their Los Angeles office. He gladly accepted. Needless to say, Tia was thrilled with the news.

Congratulations, Tia and Simon. You make a lovely couple!

What they will wear... Tia describes her dress to be a heavily beaded and embroidered, similar to those designed by Badgley Mischka. I haven't seen it myself, but I'm sure it's gorgeous. Simon, the groom-to-be, will be wearing a tux with a white silk ascot.

In ten days, many people will be participating in the age old pagen tradition of scaring away ghosts, goblins and evil spirits as they celebrate All Hallows Eve or Hallow Evening... better known today as "Halloween." On Thursday, October, 24, Tia will appear as a presenter at the 2nd Annual Concert of Excellence featuring the Rémy X.O Excellence Awards. She will be traveling to New York's Carnegie Hall to present the Hollywood Leading Man award to Jason Scott Lee, star of "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story," and Disney's "The Jungle Book."

Jason and Tia have a few things in common. Not only was he born and raised on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, he worked with her on Disney's "Lilo & Stitch" providing the voice of "David," Nani's boyfriend (voiced by Tia).

Many of you may have heard about the possibility of Tia appearing in an upcoming issue of Playboy. This is to confirm that she will be on the cover and in the pages of their December 2002 issue (on stands in November). The photos have been described as a slight departure from the typical blond-haired, blue-eyed beauties in luscious boudoir settings. Her shoot was appropriately set in a more tropical setting, with some photos sporting a slightly blue tint. It should be a very tastefully done layout.

Ahhh... Venice. What a lovely place to go for the end of the Summer. That's exactly where Tia, along with her mother, Audra, went to attend the Venice Film Festival. They also attended the amfAR Benefit Event, "Cinema Against AIDS Venice." Other celebrity attendees included Milla Jovovich, Elizabeth Berkley, Lauren Bush, Nicky Hilton, and Nicola Bulgari.

To those of you in New Orleans this weekend, if you think you saw someone who looked just like Tia, chances are it was actually her! She's there as the spokesmodel for a Canadian brand of Whisky and will be playing a hand of poker as part of a promotional event. Her youngest sister, Alesaundra, accompanied her.

Tia will once again lend her vocal talents to the character of Nani in Disney's upcoming animated television series Lilo & Stitch. Based, of course, on the popular and very successful film of the same title. Most actors who perform the voice work for Disney's feature films rarely go on to do the voice for the television series. You can imagine how thrilled Disney execs were when she agreed to come on board for this project. The series will premiere in September. She has signed on to do 44 episodes.

It was a very close finish this weekend and Lilo & Stitch missed being the Big Kahuna of the box office by a narrow margin. Steven Spielberg's Minority Report pulled in $38.7 million vs. the Disney feature's $35.3 million.

Yesterday's premiere of Lilo & Stich was a hit! A portion of Hollywood Blvd. was closed off for the red carpet arrivals which featured live hula shows and Hawaiian music. Many who attended agreed that this was "the best premiere they ever attended." Not only was the movie entertaining, but the guests were delighted as they were treated to a pre-show hula and song performance as well as a surprise live concert performance by Wynnona Judd. Afterwards, everyone gathered around the corner for the luau after-party.

Tia flew to Hawaii this morning where she will attend the Honolulu premiere of the film tomorrow evening. Fans can catch a glimps of her and other celebrity personalities at the Waikiki Twin theatres. Photos from these events will be posted on this site soon!

There will be two premieres for Tia's upcoming film, Lilo & Stitch. The first will be on Sunday, June 16 in Hollywood at the El Capitan Theatre. The second will be held in Honolulu on Tuesday, June 18.

After weeks of waiting, I have finally been given the green light to bring you the official news on the fate of Relic Hunter. Unfortunately for fans, after 3 Seasons of Ancient Studies with Sydney Fox, classes have finally been closed. Although Paramount Pictures confirmed that they decided not to pick the show up for a fourth season, a Fireworks Entertainment representative confirmed that the show would continue to be shown in syndication around the world. So fans who would like to continue to get their weekly dose of Relic Hunter should write to their local stations and support the show!

After a week of promoting her upcoming film Lilo & Stitch in Hawaii, Tia is now back home in Los Angeles.

This weekend, she, along with family and friends, attended the annual Ho'olaulea Festival in Northridge, California. There she was able to enjoy a taste of home with a traditional Hawaiian "plate lunch" of kalua pig, lomi lomi, mac salad and rice, as well do a little shopping and enjoy live hula performances and traditional Hawaiian music. The food and the atmosphere were really ono! (That's Hawaiian for "really good" for all you Malahinis.)

After her final performance tomorrow in The Vagina Monologues, Tia will be traveling to Hawaii to promote her upcoming animated Disney feature, Lilo and Stitch. Opening day, June 21, is now less than two months away!!

I saw this evening's performance of The Vagina Monologues and I was really impressed with the performance of Tia, Julie Brown and Rose Abdoo. I had already seen a previous performance by a different cast, and although it was an amusing show, the current (and final) cast members were the best in my opinion. The women had excellent chemistry and played off the audience very well. This is the last week of performances and I would highly recommend this show to all women! It was opening night for Tia in The Vagina Monologues at the Coronet Theatre in Los Angeles. The run was originally scheduled to go on until May 19th, but I've just been informed that they may only run until May 12. So hurry and buy your tickets if you want to see this live performance! I saw a different cast, but it was definitely enjoyable... more for women than men though.

After attending a performance of The Vagina Monologues at the Coronet Theatre in Los Angeles, Tia has agreed to become a cast member for the show. She will most likely open on May 1st. Other cast members still TBD.

Keep your eye out for Disney's newest feature animation, Lilo and Stitch. Tia will lend her vocal talents as "Nani", along with fellow Hawaiian-born actor, Jason Scott Lee. This feature is scheduled to be released in June 2002 in the US.

Season Three should begin shooting the week of May 14, 2001. Sadly, Season 2 marked the end of Claudia's character. Although her cute and perky personality will be missed both on and off the set, don't feel sorry for the actress that played her. Looks like Lindy Booth's star is on the rise. As most of you know by now, Relic Hunter has been renewed for a third season. Faithful fans will notice some changes though. New writers have been hired so the format of the show may change. Also, there's the possibility that a new female character may be introduced (as a series regular)!

In past seasons, half of the episodes were shot in various sections of Toronto, Canada while the the other half was shot on location in Paris, France. For Season Three, the first half will be shot in Toronto, however, Spain has been chosen as the new backdrop for the remaining episodes. This should help spice up the show and also provide the cast and crew with a new playground to explore!

*I'm going to venture a guess that there will be an episode about the traditional Tomatillo Festival that takes place annually in Spain every spring. Stay tuned and find out!
