Samurai is a 9 month old merlequin male with natural ears. Samurai came into rescue due to a family illness. He has lived with children, cats, other dogs and birds. His family was very upset to have to give him up, but knew he deserved a home that had more time to offer him. Samurai rides well in the car and has been to puppy obedience class, but he does need some leash work. He is shy when he first meets new
people but warms up quickly. Once he warms up to you, he gives lots of kisses and leans. Sam is very smart and wants to please his people. He was crate trained as a puppy, but after he was 3 months old he was left in the bathroom (with the paper put away) when home alone. Since coming to rescue, he has adjusted well to the crate again. He is a very healthy and active boy. Samurai came to MAGDRL in September 2005.
Dana is an approximately 4 year old black female with cropped ears. Dana is a small black female who was living outside in a pen or in the garage. She was jumping her 6 foot fence, and the neighbors threatened to shoot her if she got out again. Dana is a very sweet girl, although she is shy, insecure and TERRIBLY submissive. She want attention but when you try to pet her, she cowers, lays down, and tries to roll on her back to bare her belly. Dana just recently underwent heartworm tretment and got the medical go ahead to start a new life with a family that has the patience and love that she deserves and needs. Cats are a little too much temptation for this sweet girl so she will need to go to a home without cats. Dana does get along with both male and female dogs and although she does not have children in her foster home, it appears that she is good with children also. Dana came to MAGDRL in August 2004. Update 8/8/05 - Dana seems to be enjoying her new life as part of the foster girls team! With her cropped ears, she stands out from the rest. She still has a spring in her step, but she hasn't had a problem staying inside the fence. We are still a little on the thin side, but we are working on that.
