We are proudly Thespian Troupe #981, official membership of the International Thespian Society. We do 3 shows a year, our Fall Play, the Fine Art of Christmas, and a Spring Musical. We also attend the annual Thespian Convention. We are a very active force in Canon City High School, with many irons in the fire at any one time.
The Thespians are derived from Thespis, the greek god of Theater. The thespians are devoted to the art of theater, including art, acting, technical aspects, and music.
We initiate new thespians every year in January, at our annual Thespian Initiation. Our initiates are chosen by our thespians and act as initiates for 2 weeks. The initiation period involves work, as well as the wearing of costumes, singing, and other items that the Thespians so desire for the initiates. But the reward is worth it. They are then declared lifetime members of the International Thespian Society.
All shows are produced in Caņon City High School in the Del Pizzo Performing Arts Center.
