Well, this little outpost on the web is finally out of the "under construction" phase and up and running.
Thanks to all the people that have been coming by to visit us all this time!
The last year or so has been pretty tough on our camping schedule. Job changes and relocation have taken up a great deal of time that could have been spent doing important things like camping and gathering material to update this site.
Now that we are finallly settled in the great state of Wisconsin we hope to return to some serious camping again (or at least get out of the driveway) in order to bring you scintillating tales of survival from our excursions into the nether regions of local and distant campgrounds (and we're really enjoying the fact that if you live in WI and your trailer is less than 3,000 lbs you don't have to pay for license plates! Wisconsin Rocks!).
The purpose of this site has always been to share our experiences, knowledge, tips, tricks, and blundners with our bretheren pop-uppers. So, with that in mind, have at it!
UPDATE:
We did quite a bit of camping over the summer and
unfortunately, at the end of what was to be our final
campout of the year, the lift system in my Starcraft self destructed.
I mean it's freaking gone man!
No fear though, we're going to keep on camping even if we have
to go back to the tent for a while until I get a new camper.
In the meantime:
My best friend and I want to salvage the old girl
and turn it into a permanent structure. You know:
plywood instead of canvas, shingles, etc. and put it
on the back of his country farm to use as a "huntin' lodge".
We have a general idea of what we need to do, but
would like some advice from anyone who's done this before?
Any tips, hints, do's or dont's?
Please send me an e mail with any info you may have.
Thanks!
