This site is dedicated to the creative genius of individuals who own Time Splitters Future Perfect. This game is playable on Gamecube, Wii, Playstation 2, and XBox. The game is a work of art that allows people to explore their creativity by creating their own custom maps. People that have their systems online used to be able to freely trade and share their creations on the EA servers, BUT those servers have since been shut down and there are really limited resources for sharing your custom maps from the game. That’s where this website comes in. I’m hoping for this site to become a conduit for people to freely share their maps with the world. As we all share maps and learn from each others ideas, the maps will only get better. So let the map making renaissance begin!
To get started you will need a few tools. All of the maps must be made with Strauns excellent map editor.
IMPORTANT UPDATE! Struans website will be down soon and all maps made with his program will cease to work when that happens. Dont worry though, because I've got you covered. I've updated struans program and fixed the html export feature so that everything is now hosted on my site, so everything will work if you just USE THE NEW VERSION OF THE MAP MAKER PROGRAM. If you have an existing map that is no longer working, click here for instrucitons on how to fix it.
Okay, once you have created your map, MAKE SURE YOU SAVE IT… that way if you need / want to make changes later you can. DO NOT SEND maps until they are finalized. I will not post incomplete maps, and you won’t be able to edit your map once I post it. So make sure it’s the way you want it before you send it.
Once you are ready to submit your map, you need to get the HTML code for it. MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE NEWEST VERSION OF THE PROGRAM. YOUR MAP WILL NOT WORK IF YOU USE THE OLD VERSION. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE NEWEST VERSION BY CLICKING HERE. To do this you simply click TOOLS > HTML EXPORTER in the program.It will ask you where to save the file. Save it in a place you can remember it.
Now, this part is very important. I do not want the file you just saved. I want the information IN the file. So right click the file and choose “open with” and then select notepad. When notepad opens, it will look like a bunch of jibberish to non programming folks. That’s okay though. :-) Just copy and paste all that jibberish directly into an e-mail to me. In the subject line put the name of your map, and your name. If you fail to follow these directions, your map will not get posted. If you want to give me a description of your map you may do so at the beginning of the e-mail. Just put a line at the end of your comments before you paste the “jibberish” into your e-mail.
Anyway, that’s it. It sounds complicated, but it isn’t.
