Why The World Such? Why All Happens? My science teacher said….. I ask. Who made this place anyway? In your recent letter to me you brought forth the following query. Why the world such? Why all happens? Well, I cannot give you a definitive answer as to why things occur. Things such as the Indian Ocean tsunami on December 26 2004 that killed more than 220,000 people. At this writing the number is still being tallied and is estimated at some 300,000. Or the earthquake in Tangshan, China July 28 1976 that killed over 242,000. Lets not forget the Bhola cyclone in the Bay of Bengal November 13 1970 that killed an estimated 400,000. A large part of them as they slept in their homes. Let me say up front and openly. I do not claim to have a direct link to the mind of the living God, the creator of the universe. Although I have made a good study of the book He sent to us about Himself and the world we live in, the Holy Bible. There are Russian language versions of this work available. One important point to bring to light early on in our discussion is that God does not make everything happen. Many people tend to ask why did God do this terrible thing or along the same line your question. Why the world such? And others ask why did God allow these awful things to happen which leans toward your second question. Why all happens? God created the world for us to live in and created us from it. He made the world and started it to move through time, time as we know it (24-hour day, 365.25-day year). He made us from it and put us here. A premier point to make is God creates living things. The things He put on the earth, over it and under it are alive! Alive with plants, animals, fish, birds, worms and other organisms so tiny we can not see with the naked eye. Life from the bottom of the ocean to the top of the highest mountain. Follow this point closely. I will part with science here. My next remark is a philosophical statement not scientific. Although scientist often bear witness to it without realizing what their doing. The earth is ALIVE. A crazy idea? Science refers to planets and moons, bodies in space, as well as the earth as being alive. Oh, pardon me. They are talking about living organisms or possibly the simple mechanics of existence. OK. I stand corrected. Then give me their life of a STAR. Tell me what organisms are being talked about there? And the mechanics certainly are not simple. Stars are one of the most complex things known to science today. I prefer the Jesus knows best theory: Have you ever considered what Jesus said as he was entering the city of Jerusalem in His final days? The Pharisees, the powers that be, wanted Him to stop the crowd from shouting Hosanna etc. He answered and said, I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out! Luke 19:40 N.A.S.V. Jesus said the rocks will cry out? YES. How can this be if the earth is lifeless? He should know what it can do, after all, He made it. Apparently the rocks are a little more intelligent than we are. They know who made them. Smile. Jesus loves us. We are the species or life form that God patterned after Himself. Let us recount what God told Adam as He was dictating the curse at the ending of Adams stay in the Garden of Eden. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return. Genesis 3:19 N.I.V. Our bodies came from the earth, which is interesting. Why so? The earth is a living viable life form. Absurd? Read it for yourself again, Luke 19:40 Note life begets life. Life does not come from nothing. Only emptiness comes from nothing. In the world of mathematics nothing is less than zero. At least zero holds place value. Nothing has nothing to hold!
