3. CONFIRMING GAME CREWS. It is the responsibility of the referee to contact his assistant referees and confirm that all members of the crew are still on the game and to coordinate arrival time, dress code, and meeting arrangements at least 4 days in advance of the game! If you are assigned as an assistant referee and you have not heard from your center official at least 3 days before the game you must call the other AR and the Referee and confirm arrangements. If you are not able to make contact with all members of your crew at least 2 days before the match call TISOA and leave a message clearly stating who you have not been contacted by or whom you have been unable to contact. Failure to contact other members of the crew may cause you to be replaced on the match! Click here for TISOA membership contact information4. UNIFORMS and ARRIVAL ATTIRE. The center official determines which of the approved TISOA arrival attire outfits is to be worn to each game. This should be communicated at the time the crew is confirmed. The approved arrival attire outfits are:
5. GAME PAYMENT. Fees for matches are as follows:
Payment is not made at the field. Schools are invoiced by TISOA after a match has been completed and invoices are generated based on the match report. Each official should receive payment for a game worked within 2-4 weeks of the match. Keep track of your games and who has paid you. If you have not received payment on time, check first with your referee to make certain the match report was sent in and then report the failure to receive payment to TISOA. In an effort to speed up match fee payments, TISOA has asked Andre Sies to handle invoicing. If you send your match report via email you can speed up the process by sending him a copy of the email. You may also mail a copy to him. However, I must still receive the match report within 48 hrs. 6. MATCH REPORTS.. The referee of each match is responsible for sending in the match report within 48 hrs of the match. Match reports may be sent in via email, but only in the electronic format WORD document provided by TISOA and only as an attachment, not in the body of the email. Match reports may also be sent via fax or snail mail. Failure to send a match report in on time is a $25 fine. For emailed match reports you will receive a reply acknowledging receipt, IF YOU FOLLOW THE FORMAT EXPLAINED ON THE MATCH REPORT. 7. ASSESSMENTS. Each official is responsible for paying for 1 center assessment and 1 line assessment. After an assessment is received by TISOA an invoice will be sent to the officials detailing to whom payment is to be made and where to send it. If you are assessed after paying for the 1 center and 1 line TISOA pays for the assessment. National Referees and National Referee Candidates are responsible for paying for each assessment done for them up to the full number needed or used for the year. 8. TRAVEL COMPENSATION & DRIVER DESIGNATIONS. If your assignment does not designate anyone to drive the other officials, and the match is not in your home city, it is the responsibility of the referee to determine who will drive and to report that on the match report so appropriate travel compensation can be paid. If the match assignment designates driver(s), that person or persons is to transport any other official from his area or who can be met along the way to the game site. If for some personal reason a designated driver is not able to transport the other officials this should be noted on the match report as the travel compensation will be distributed differently depending on the reason given for the inability to pick up the other officials. On longer trips, the official designated to drive is expected to use some of that travel fee to purchase inexpensive meals, drinks, and/or snacks for the other officials, or to contribute a reasonable portion towards a more expensive meal, something in the range of $5-$10 per referee depending on the amount of travel. For CVAC games travel is paid by TISOA at the end of the season based on the total mileage of all CVAC covered matches. CVAC schools are St. Andrews, Mt. Olive, Barton, Queens, Belmont Abbey, and Pfeiffer. 9. EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. If due to unforeseen circumstances you find that you will be late for a game or cannot get to a game, IMMEDIATELY contact one of the TISOA Assignors, being sure to make live contact. Also call any other members of the crew that you can reach. Last, but also very important, contact the school and let them know your arrival status, i.e. going to be late delayed by I-40 wreck, not coming because in an accident, etc. For those persons required to travel on I-40 between Raleigh and Winston-Salem, or on I-85 between Greensboro and Charlotte, EXPECT AND PLAN FOR TRAFFIC DELAYS. Allow at least an extra 20-30 minutes for this type of delay. |
