This EVENT may indeed, finally open the doors into the realms of more research, more respect for those with "invisible" disabilities, and most important more understanding of our pain and struggles to try and live a somewhat normal life.

This website will keep you updated on the progress and information of our walk for awareness as time gets closer to our goal. I can not express enough how important it is for us all to remember that this EVENT is to be PEACEFUL and PROFESSIONAL, for we achieve nothing if these simple rules are not followed.

Our Walk for Awareness is set for May 11,2002, in Washington D.C., in front of the capital Building. We will have petitions circulated by you, and personally signed by me to hand to congress. Melanie Woodruff,will have your stories put into book formand ready to hand to Congress members. There will be speeches by Melanie, Dr. Jacob Tietlbaum M.D., Author: Devin Starlanyl,Lawyer Scott E. Davis, CFIDS Advocate Paula Carns, Sabrina Johnson Founder and CEO of our Sister Organization F.A.C.E.S.INC, Sharon S. Sauer CMTPT from the Paragon Clinic, myself and others, musical entertainment, some of which may be a surprise to you.

We will be together as a family, and as a family we can achieve these goals. Working together and making this a priority we WILL persevere. It is understood we all have priorities that come first, however, this EVENT is extremely important to our future as well as our children. For the statistics of rising diagnosis' of Fibromyalgia is staggering. Devin Starlanyl states that the reason for the numbers of people with Fibromyalgia and the other conditions is the lack of training in diagnosis and treatment of these conditions. If doctors could deal with them effectively as they develop in some cases we would not be in this state. Research has shown that. A larger number of women are afflicted with this often disabling "syndrome", however there are many men and children afflicted as well.

There are several reasons why the EVENT is set for the year 2002, one of which, and probably the biggest reason, is financial. Many of us can't work, due to our illnesses, and we must start saving now. Remember, a penny saved is a penny earned!! START SAVING THOSE PENNIES!!!

Other reasons are mostly for planning and spreading the news. As I said we have petitions to fill, there will be a link to the petition. All you have to do is print it out, if you do not have a printer, find a friend or relative who has one. If you absolutely can't print the petition, just click on my "Mail me" button leave me a message, and I will get them to you. Then get the signatures people, take the petition where ever you go! Again, when we get together, I will personally sign each and every cover sheet.
