AWARD $50

IN THE ANNUAL CONTESTS

“THE BEST TOAST OF THE YEAR.”

New and unusual toasts are born in every corner of our small planet every day. They come and go unnoticed. Please notice them, write them down, and share them with other toastmakers by sending them to me, by e-mail or post mail. And if your toast is the best one I receive that year, you will win $50.

In addition, your toast might be made available to other toastmakers through the Internet or it might be chosen to be placed in a book. Your name as the sender or author of a toast might be in it.

Awards.

The contests are provided for each of the following years: 2002, 2003, and 2004. The end of the contest is September of each year. No purchase is required to participate in the contests. However, include a SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) with your submission if you would like to know the names of the winners of the awards, or you can check the website.

The award to the winner is $50

My e-mail address: toastmakers@yahoo.com

My Mail Address:       Alex Pol

            2701 Lightfoot Dr.

            Baltimore, MD 21209

I am going to keep addresses at least until January of 2005. Send me your toasts that you think will be of the interest to people around the world and could be used by them.

Note: Knowing my relatives and close friends, I can say that they will be glad to provide the toasts for my collection. However, they are not eligible to participate in the contest.

The requirements for the toasts:

1.     Toasts should have been actually raised.

2.     The sender of a new (original) toast, which was not published, should inform me that he/she is the originator (author) of the toast, if he/she is.

3.     Very brief (not more than 100 words) explanation of who, what, why, where, and when the toast was raised should be provided.

4.     Toasts should not be in verse and should not have the quotations of famous people.

5.     The toast should not be more than 250 words.

6.     The initials, city, and country of the toast sender might be published with the toast, if published. Senders should designate if they do not want this information to be published or if they want it to be announced differently. (Example: to publish a full name instead of an initials)

7.     The toast shall be written in the English or Russian languages.

8.     By sending the toast to me,

a.      The sender acknowledges a transfer of the copyright of the toast to me without any compensation. This will give me the freedom to edit the toast and publish it in any media, including the Internet, that I find suitable.

b.     The sender acknowledges and agrees that the originator of this contest is the sole judge in the defining the winners of the contests. A sender agrees that the judgment of the originator of the contest on the best toast is final.

THE PERSON WHO IS NOT BOUND BY THE CONDITION OF THE CONTEST “THE BEST TOAST OF THE YEAR” SHALL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST.
