September, 2002         Mac : How to remove a tile from the Control Strip?
Steps Home | Mac Secrets

If you don't want any certain tile in the Control Strip, it is possible to remove any one of tiles or two there.

1) If you want to remove any one of tiles from this Control Strip, just click Option-drag off the strip.

2) This is the result. You can trash it.

3) Good news for Mac users is, other Control Strip tiles are worth installing such as BunchOApps, Quit CSM, Easy-Font Preview and StripBandit from www.unlimited-edition.com. So enjoy installing! These ones are freewares.

  • BunchOApps - Lists the most recently run programs (and also programs you want to remain permanently in the list). Selecting an application from either list launches the application.
  • StripBandit - When you've just done too much work for the day, why not play a quick name of Las Vegas-style slots? This hilarious little module turns your Control Strip into a slot machine,
  • Easy-Font Preview - A handy, free Control Strip module that lets you see what each of your fonts looks like at a glance.
