First of all, it is possible to use the window into pop-up/down window that is similar to Windows ways. But I do think it is not popular among Mac users. I am not comfortable using this function of pop-up/down window.

1) Choose any programs or folders as you like to open this.

2) Choose View and select Pop-up Window.

3) Finally, it is in Pop-down Window. So you can click the tab in order to pop down/up the window.

4) That's what it looks.
