“Okay, Melanee,” the photographer yelled, “just one last shot, pout for us, would you love.” Mel laughed at this, “anything else?” she asked. “Yep,” the photographer said, “lift up your top a bit, show us some belly.” Melanee pouted and raised her eyebrows, while lifting up her tee a couple of inches above the pink, leather pants she was using for the shoot. “Brilliant,” the photographer yelled, taking many shots, “that’s it, we’re done.” “Cool,” Melanee sighed, rubbing her hands through her hair, “that was tiring.” The photographer looked over at her and smiled, “you did well, darling,” he said, “you’re very beautiful.” Melanee smiled, broadly, “thanks, Jacko,” she said, running over and giving him a hug, “you’re beautiful too!” Jacko just laughed and shook his head, “well, these will be ready for viewing tomorrow,” he said, unloading his camera, “come by and you can see them.” “Great,” Melanee said, packing up her bag, “do you want me to change out of these clothes or…” “Oh, no,” Jacko said, waving his hand dismissively, “keep them, luv.” “Wow, thanks,” Mel said, looking down at her newly acquired pants and tee, “okay, I’ll catch you tomorrow Jacko, see ya.” “Bye!” Jacko called, as Melanee left the studios. Melanee walked toward her Porche, smiling happily at her new outfit, when her mobile phone rang. It was Shane. “Hey Shane,” Melanee said, happily, “what’s up, sweetie?” “Not much,” Shane replied, pulling his car up behind Melanee’s and laughing as he saw Melanee’s back, facing him. “Where are you?” Melanee asked. “Well…” Shane said, not wanting to give away his surprise, “I'm at home, waiting for you.” Shane got out of his car and shut the door silently, “I’ve got a surprise for you,” he said, stepping up behind Melanee, trying hard not to laugh. “What?” Melanee asked, excitedly, “what this surprise you have for me, baby?” “This!” Shane said, jumping on to Mel from behind. “What the hell?” Melanee shrieked, dropping her phone. “Hey luv, did I scare you?” Shane asked, kissing the shocked Melanee on the cheek. Melanee just stood there for a while, not saying anything, then she shook her head and came to her senses. “SHANE!” Melanee yelled, slapping Shane across the arm, “what on earth did you do that for, I could have had a cardiac arrest!” Shane just laughed, “it was just my surprise, sweetums!” he said, putting his arms around her shoulders, “cos, I love you, so much!” Melanee stared evilly at Shane for a moment, then her glare changed into a soft smile, “oh Shane!” she said, placing her arms around his waist, “what am I going to do with you?” “Take me home and teach me a lesson?” Shane said, smiling and doing funny things with his eyebrows. “Shane?” Melanee said, in mock horror, “you are so… never gonna get that!” “Oh!” Shane said, pretending to look hurt, “really? Not even if I say please?” Mel laughed and pulled Shane closer to her, “what ever happened to Gillian, eh?” she asked, kissing him lightly on the cheek. “Oh she’s totally out of the picture, Mel,” Shane said, “I only have eyes for you, my darling!” “Oh really?” Melanee said, raising her eyebrows, “so you don’t want to come with me to meet her for afternoon tea, then?” “What?” Shane said, suddenly becoming serious, “oh, are you really? Oh, can I meet her, oh Mel, you gotta let me meet her!” “Oh dear god,” Melanee said with a laugh, “you’re like a little puppy dog, seeing his owner with the leash. You’re so excitable.” Shane smiled, “I just wanna meet the girl of my dreams,” he said, placing his hand on his chest in a patriotic manner, “just once, I’d like to meet her.” Melanee smiled, “You’re so cute, Shay,” she said, rubbing his hair with her hand, “I wish I could find a man like you.” Shane smiled, “do you know what people say?” he said, slyly. “No?” Melanee said, looking at Shane suspiciously, “what do they say?” “They say,” Shane said, taking on a rather posh voice, “that Nicky and I, have very similar personalities.” “Oh really?” Mel said, innocently, “and what would I have to do with that?” “Oh, I dunno,” Shane said, rolling his eyes, “maybe the fact that you fancy him like mad!” “I do not!” Melanee said, pushing Shane slightly, as they made their way back to their own cars, “he’s just kinda…cute.” Shane laughed at this, “whatever, you reckon, luv,” he said, shaking his head, “okay, well, when are you meeting Gillian up for afternoon tea?” “Erm…” Melanee said, peering at her watch, “in about 45 minutes.” “Well, do you wanna grab a coffee or something?” Shane said, unlocking his car, and pulling open the door. “Cool,” Melanee said, unlocking her car, “I'll meet you at the coffee house, okay, then we’ll get a coffee and wait for Gill there.” “Sounds like a plan,” Shane said, getting into his car, “I'll see you there in a second okay.” “Follow me, alright,” Melanee said, getting into her car and slamming the door. “Alright!” Shane said, starting up his car, and smiling to himself, ‘I'm gonna see Gillian in 45 minutes…” he thought to himself, ‘I hope she likes me…” |
