We Were Two
Chapter 5
About a week later I had moved in to my own apartment.
It was very  close, both to Nic and Rhiannon and to the
hotel, where I was working.  I liked it a lot, of course it
wasn’t very big, but I felt at home and it was cosy.
Everyone had insisted that they would help me move,
eventhough  I told them that eight people would be too
much. But I didn’t mind coz  we had a great time,
unpacking everything. Normally it would’ve gone a  lot
faster with seven people helping me, but these were not
just any  people! The lads, especially Bryan, had to look
through every  photoalbum they came across.
“You know you’re not actually supposed to eat gravel?”, Kian said.
“I was three years old! I don’t even wanna know what you
put in your  mouth when you were three.” I through a
pillow at him and before anyone knew how, everyone
started throwing pillows at each other.  Incidents like this
didn’t exactly quicken my unpacking…
Eventhough all of us only met about week ago, we had
become really  close. Some closer than others. Shane
and Nic had only had eyes for  eachother since that first
night and they were now officially dating. We all knew
that Mark and Rhiannon were interested in one another,
but both were too shy to make the first move. Everyone was convinced that
something would happen soon, though… We got
together pretty much every  day; went shopping, had
lunch, went out for a drink or just talked about
everything. That day I remember thinking, “I wish things could stay like
this forever…”  While everybody was still busy throwing pillows at each
other (it had  now devoloped to some kind of team fight
with me, Kian, Rhiannon and  Mark in one team against
the others), I got away unnoticed (I thought)  and went to
the kitchen to get some water.
“Couldn’t stand the humiliation of losing, huh?” Obviously
Bryan had  seen me leave and went after me.
“We were’nt losing! You were!”, I said and playfully
punched his arm.  Me and Bryan had been out a couple
of times already, and I was probably getting along with
him the best. I’d got very close to Kian as  well, but that
was just as friends. With Bryan I was hoping for more than  that…
“Ouch! That hurt! I’ll so get you for that.” He started
chasing me around the kitchen table.
“Ha! I’ve got you now! There’s no way you’ll get away this
time.”, he  held my arms in a firm grip and looked mighty proud of himself.
“Maybe I don’t wanna get away…” I said in a low voice,
looking into his beautiful blue eyes. It was as if he could
see right through me. He loosened his grip, leaned
forward and placed a soft kiss on my lips.
“You know, I’ve wanted to do that since the first time I
saw you.” I put my arms around him and we shared
another kiss, it was the most passionate kiss I’d ever
experienced. We stood there in silence for a few
minutes, holding eachother and kissing. I guess the
others noticed we  were gone, coz suddenly we heard them cheering.
“Way to go Heléna!” “Finally, you to did something about it!”, Nicky said,
“Mark, have you  learnt something from this?” Mark
acted like he didn’t hear and  Rhiannon blushed. They
came up to us and told us how happy they  were for us
and that we made a great couple.  Nobody had noticed
Kian’s sad look as he saw us and went back to the living- room…
