You'll Never Stand Alone
Chapter 4
“What’s wrong with you Nix?”, Shane looked worried at his friend,
who’d been acting weird these last few days. It was as if he was
searching for someone or something everytime they left the hotel.
He kept looking all around him and very closely at everyone they
went past in the streets.
“Nothing… It’s just…”, he went silent for a few seconds and looked
out the window, before he continued. “It’s this girl…”
“Go on.”, Shane said, suddenly sounding very interested. He knew
Nicky missed having a girlfriend, having someone to talk to and
share his dreams with. Sure the guys in the band were always
there for each other, but that’s not really the same thing, is it?
“Do you remember that girl I talked to when we were at ‘The Swan’
the other night?” Shane nodded, “Well, this may seem a bit weird,
but I really like her. I know I hardly spoke to her, but something
inside me just told me this was right y’know… And I could see in
her eyes that she had been through so much in her life and that she
didn’t believe anything anymore. Especially not love and trust…
She didn’t have that spark of life in her eyes that any other girl her
age has. I just wanted to take her in my arms and tell that
everything would be okae…”, Nicky’s voice faded away. Neither of
them said anything for a minute or two, but then Shane was the one
who broke the silence.
“You’ve totally fallen for her haven’t you?”
“Yeah… I guess I have…”
“Well then there’s only one thing to do! We have to find her for you!”
“Don’t you forget something here?”, Nicky asked looking at his
friend, “We’re in London! And all I know about this girl is her first
name… So yeah of course, we’ll find her in no time at all!”, he said
sarcastically. Shane knew he was right, but still he knew that Nicky
would never be his old self again if they didn’t find this girl. They had
to come up with something, but what?
“Okae, we still have a few hours before we have to do that photo
shoot for Smash Hits, come on, let’s go!” Shane grabbed his friend
by the arm and dragged him out of the hotel room.
“We’re we going? And jeez, would you please let me walk by
myself!”
“You, me and the rest of the guys are going to find this mysterious
girl. I figure if we all spread out and walk around in the
neighbourhood around ‘The Swan’ maybe one of us will spot either
Rebecca or her friend.” Shane looked mighty proud for thinking of
this great idea and it almost looked as if he was waiting for
applauds or something. But Nicky seemed everything but
impressed.
“Yeah, like that’ll ever work…”
“Would you please stop being so damn negative about all this! Do I
hear you coming with a better idea? Errr, NO! Now, c’mon!” They
went out in the corridor and knocked on Kian’s door and found the
three others in there having a pillow fight. And by the looks of it,
Mark was loosing big time.
“Hey guys!” Shane said, “We have a mission.” He filled Bryan, Kian
and Mark in on the story and his plan.
“Well, what are we waiting for?”, Bryan said enthusiastically, “Let’s
go!” Everyone got up and was very excited about helping Nicky
finding this mysterious girl. Everyone but Nicky himself, he didn’t
wanna get his hopes up and besides this would never work. There
was no way they were gonna find Rebecca. Or was there?
