You'll Never Stand Alone
Chapter 7
“Everybody, this is Rebecca! Rebecca this is everybody; Shane,
Bryan, Kian and Mark!”
“Hi, nice to finally meet you, we’ve heard so much about you!” Kian
said as he shook hands with Becky and flashed her a smile.
“Really? Well, don’t believe any of it!” Becky said as she shook
hands with all the lads. They were sitting in a café in Notting Hill.
Westlife were shooting a video for their next single just down the
road and after loads of persuasion they finally were allowed to go on
a break. Just for half an hour though and then it was back to work.
“Wow man, she’s really beautiful…” Bry whispered to Nicky while
Becky talked to the others.
“Hey, don’t even think about trying to work your Bryan-charm on her!”
“Jeez man, I just said she was beautiful and besides it wouldn’t be
fair to compete about a girl with your best mate. Especially not
when you have to compete with me, cos you would never stand a
chance!” Bryan said and laughed while Nicky just rolled his eyes.
“Anywayz Bry, how are things going with that girl you met a few
weeks ago? What was her name again…?”
“Her name’s Heléna and it’s actually going very well, thank you very
much. She is so sweet and caring and most importantly, she thinks
I have a great sense of humour!” That last comment almost made
Nicky spit his coke out!
“You’re kidding? What did you do? Bribe her to laugh at your jokes?”
“Ha ha, funny guy you are!” Bry’s voice when he said this was of
course filled with sarcasm, I mean he is the King of Sarcasm!
“I know, you have just taught me so incredibly much during these
few years.” Nicky said and then turned around to talk to his
girlfriend. Yes that’s right, Becky and Nicky had been a couple for
about a week now and Becky felt that she slowly began working her
way back to a normal life. Of course Nicky had been a tremendous
support in this battle. She still hadn’t quite opened up to him, but
she was getting there.
“Oh by the way, since Mill is dying to meet this new girlfriend of
yours, she thought it would be a good idea to invite everybody for
dinner at my place tonight. What d’ya think? Or maybe you all have
other plans already…” Shane looked at the lads and Becky and
waited for an answer. It wasn’t very often the lads and their
girlfriends (which they all had at the moment) had a possibility to
get together and they all felt that was a shame cos they were like
one big family. Except that some parts of it, i.e. the girlfriends, got
exchanged now and again. But now it seemed like all the guys
were serious about their present relationships, even though some of
them hadn’t been dating for that long.
“Yeah sure we can come over! That sounds like fun!” Bryan
answered and all the others nodded in agreement. “So what time
should we be there?”
“Well, about 7pm or something… That would give Mill and me
enough time to prepare everything, I mean a phone call to the
Chinese restaurant doesn’t take that long!” They all started laughing
at what Shane just said but stopped as soon as they saw a very
angry Anto standing next to the table.
“I don’t know about you guys”, Anto said, “but where I come from
half an hour means 30 minutes and not 50! Now c’mon, we have a
video to finish!” “Oops…”
“…I did it again, I played with your heart, got lost in the game…”
Bryan started singing, but when he saw the look from the others he
quickly stopped again. “Sorry…” They got up from the table and
followed Anto to the exit.
“I’ll come and pick you up around 10 to 7 ok?” Nicky said as he
gave Becky a peck on the cheek. “Yeah, see you then. Bye!” “Bye!”
Becky slowly started walking towards her apartment. She didn’t
really like not being with Nicky, cos then she didn’t know how he
was. It was like she was just waiting for someone to call her and
tell her that something has happened to him and that he was now in
a hospital. ‘Come on Becky, stop being so damn paranoid! Why
can’t you just be happy about the fact that you have a great
boyfriend and stop worrying about what might happen?’ She walked
up the stairs and opened the door. Just as she got inside her phone rang…
