CASCA NEWS PAGE
MARCH 1, 2002.  Figures show that 12 pages on the site achieved record hits in February and a further 11 equalled their highest ever.  Much of these were book  pages, showing their popularity.

******************
FEBRUARY 12, 2002.  Another temporary shut down by Geocities as the high useage of this website exceeded the permitted bandwith.  Since going on Yahoo and Google search engines this site's visits have shot up.

*******************
JANUARY 18, 2002.  This website now appears on the two big search engines, Google and Yahoo, so I expect more individual page visits from now on.  Casca #10: Conquistador has already had more visits this month than any other.

*******************
DECEMBER 18, 2001.  I've added a Movie page which will contain all the news about the planned Casca movie.  Hopefully I'll be able to put in plenty about it!

*******************
NOVEMBER 28, 2001.  Finally completed the update of the character glossary in the wake of the Defiant.

*******************
NOVEMBER 27, 2001.  Geocities had to shut the website down for a short while this month due to the excessive bandwidth use this site was taking up.  As a result and in order to keep this site free, there will be a bit of rejigging of page locations in the near future.  Hopefully this will not result in any downtime.

*******************
NOVEMBER 24, 2001.  Another record breaking month for the website, hits have exceeded the previous monthly total today, and there's still 6 days to go.

*******************
NOVEMBER 23, 2001.  With the increasing visits to this website, I thought it would be fun to see how popular the Casca books were with site visitors.  The top 5 all time hits are Eternal Mercenary, Liberator, God Of Death, Panzer Soldier and Trench Soldier.  Visitors are now told which are the current top 5 on a daily basis on the 'booklist' page.  Watch out for the Defiant, roaring up in 7th place!

*******************
NOVEMBER 8, 2001.  The Casca film project is now in the hands of Matt Wall of USA Films and amyone is free to email him at
matt.wall@usafilms.net in support of the project.

*******************
NOVEMBER 6, 2001.  I've put in the review of the new book, plus I've updated the two Timeline pages that are affected.  The characters from the book will be written into the relevant character pages shortly.

*******************
NOVEMBER 2, 2001.  The first review of the new book by a reader is very favourable.

*******************
OCTOBER 31, 2001.  The new book, Casca#24: The Defiant, is released.  The story takes place in medieval Venice, thus the book cover depicting African elephants, tribesmen and an erupting volcano is somewhat misleading!

*******************
OCTOBER 29, 2001.  This month is the busiest one to date for visits to the website as the total hits for October surpasses the previous record.  Thanks to all those who have visited and please come back again and again.  With the release of the new book in two days time lets hope November is another record breaker.

*******************
OCTOBER 12, 2001.  Four more Casca novels are to be released on audio, bringing the number to 18.  They are #15: The Pirate (Sept 2001), #16: Desert Mercenary (Oct 2001), #17: The Warrior (Nov 2001) and #18: The Cursed (Dec 2001).

*******************
SEPTEMBER 21, 2001.  Gary Sizemore reports that Paul Dengelegi is in fact safe and unharmed, despite media rumours.  He has spoken to him by phone and confirms that the author of the Casca book 'The Liberator' and the forthcoming 'Defiant' in unhurt.

********************
SEPTEMBER 20, 2001.  Unconfirmed reports in a couple of US newspapers state that Casca author Paul Dengelegi was in or around the second tower of the World Trade Center when it was hit by the terrorist-piloted plane in the attack on the States.   As of yet there is no confirmation that Dengelegi is one of the missing 5,400 people but this website has asked for further information from Gary Sizemore on www.barrysadler.com  and will publish an update on this page when any further news is known.

********************
SEPTEMBER 4, 2001.  Forthcoming audio books in the Casca series due for release are The Pirate (September), Desert Mercenary (October), Warrior and African Mercenary (November) and The Cursed (December).  This will bring the total to 18 the Barry Sadler novels that have been made into audio books.

Also website visitors have formed a definite pattern of most favoured Casca novels by their visits to each particular page; Eternal Mercenary is well in the lead, followed by God of Death and Liberator in 2nd and 3rd and a long way back is Panzer Soldier in 4th.  Least popular is The Pirate.
