Stories From a country boys mind
As I think back to my childhood there are a lot of old memories.
The times were slow paced. Time was not so important back then. Kids played outside not in the house.;  A kid could ride his bike all day, go anywhere, and no one tried to harm him.
We had games we played such as marbles. Every boy in the neighborhood   had a big sack; of them. We would trade , win or loose them in the game.
I remember taking a piece of 2x4 wood and making it my bulldozier. I made the roads to push my little cars on.
We had a game that all the boys in the neighborhood; played together. We would all get a stick, or board about 2 to 3 ft long. and we would find a big wasp nest. Then we would throw a rock to stur them up.; We would battle the wasp with our sticks. I guess to make it fair for the wasps most of us didn't wear shirts.
; We also played soft ball and football in the field.; Those were great times. We had it made but didn't realize it.
Cokes were a nickle so if we had one we would head  to  Chick Watford's store and sit under the shed to drink our cokes.
One  thing I loved to play most was Cowboys and Indains.  I would dream of riding a horse like Roy Rogers did.   If you were a indain you would have a stick with a corn cob on the end to throw. Once I was playing and I got dads rawhide whip , Well i hit a boy on the side with it,  I think he still has the scar on his side.. All I remember was "Crack, OH OH OH OH." He was cutting flips . I guess he was lucky I didn't brand him.
