Phantasy Star Online Ver.2

May 16 2001:

Sega announced today pricing and date details for the North American release of PSO version 2. The press release was as follows: "Sega of America announced today that the highly anticipated 'Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2' will ship in the U.S on September 11. 'Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2" will enable gamers to access new features, modes and quests to enhance their 'Phantasy Star Online' gaming experience. In order to maintain a secure, fair and exciting online gaming environment, 'Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2' will include an online payment structure that will be easily accessible and affordable for U.S. gamers. Gamers will receive 3 months of unlimited online gameplay for $15.00. 'Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2' can also be enjoyed offline, although certain new quests and features will only be available online. Gamers can still enjoy unlimited online gameplay with the original "Phantasy Star Online" at no cost."

Nothing more to say... On the right there is a pic of what appears to be a RAcast running through the new Ruins! I'm so excited. They aren't calling Ver.2 an entirely different game anymore, but an add-on to the widely popular, smash hit, Phantasy Star Online. As of right now I'm not sure if you will need ver1 to play ver2, but lets hope not. I have heard that you can use Sega's BBA, BUT...I have also heard that Sega has discontinued their Broad Bands. ??? I don't know but anyway, I'm sure Sega plans on doing something about cheating, and I hope that we have been waiting for a very good reason. I'm also excited about the change with night and day. In ver.2 the time changes, I think that is great. There are lots more features but I don't really want to put them here. So anyway...Get the full preview and more pics, click here
