Monday’s Star

They tried, they tried on Monday night
To fill the sky with starlight bright
But e’en the moon with all its pride
Bowed graciously and moved aside
A shine, a shine from far below
Within a teardrop came to grow
All heaven’s brilliance bowed in awe
The tender radiance that they saw
A child’s, a child’s illuminant grace
Lit hearts and eyes on every face
In joyful arms the source of light
Lindsey Noelle, the star this night
Her sigh, her sigh in peaceful sleep
Brings smiles to share and hearts to weep
In happy glow of jubilee
upon a brand new family
Dedicated to my granddaughter, Lindsey Noelle born on July 18, 2005.
