My Daughter I watched you as you played today, amazed at how you've grown; recalling tiny fingers grasping trembling ones that were my own. You took my breath and heart away that day that you were born, so like a dew-kissed blossom opening up in Springtime's early morn. I see with each new passing day the velvet petals you unfurl. As seasons pass a flower will stand, emerged from this days little girl. Though I would choose the type of flower I'd hope the world will see, I can only guide and nurture you into the one that you were meant to be. And honey, as you take your place amid life's vast bouquet; I'll always see the precious bloom that took my breath away. 6/25/00 |
