Chapter 11

"-Can I go to your place? I can't stay here, said Elizabeth

-Sure, you know you can, whenever you want replied Lucky

-Elizabeth, said Jeff, you are still under our guardianship and I don't think it's a good idea for you to hide at your boyfriend's place

-I don't care what you think Jeff. Said Elizabeth. I know you are still legally my parents, but I couldn't care less. You wanted to get rid of my all my life, now's your chance. Grab it now, because I am walking out of here. Don't try and stop me. Hum, Audrey, would you mind if I come back later to talk to you? Or since I'm not your granddaughter you'd like me to get out of your life? Saying that, Elizabeth started to cry again and Lucky tightened his embrace

-Oh Elizabeth, said Audrey, getting up, I AM your grandmother. I don't care about blood, I love you. Please, don't leave. I know you must be mad right now, but I didn't know so don't punish me for it

-Gram, I don't want to stay under the same roof as them, I'm sorry. When they leave, I will come back I swear"

Alexis was quiet the whole time, she wiping the tears off her face.

"-Elizabeth, Alexis said, getting ready to leave. If you want and only if you want, when you are ready, call me and we will talk about this ok? I understand you must be hurt and angry right now, but know that will not push you or do anything you don't want to do. This is your call, I did mine years ago when I gave you away. There are some things you need to know about that night.

-We'll see ok? I can't talk about this right now

-Of course not, just thought you need to know. Call me. Bye everyone"

Elizabeth kissed her grandmother, and went with Lucky, without saying anything else to her parents. Nikolas saw them coming, Lucky helping Liz, because she was crying. Lucky told his brother to help him sit her down, Lucky fell on his knees and held her until she calmed down. She couldn't stop crying. She felt betrayed. Not because her parents had lied to her, but because all these years they had a reason to hate her. Nikolas gave her a glass of water and, drinking it, Elizabeth calmed down a little. She smiled at Nikolas and looked at Lucky.

"-I'm sorry, she said, I soaked your shirt

-Oh that old thing? No problem. Are you feeling better?

-Yeah, I guess I am. That was a shock, but I always suspected it. After all, I don't look like anyone in the Webber family.

-What's going on if I may ask? Said Nikolas

-Hi Cousin, how are you? Liz asked with a nervous laugh

-Cousin? What is that all about?"

Elizabeth said the same thing Jeff told her. Nikolas was stunned. Elizabeth? His cousin? Why do Cassadines always had to lie to their children? Stefan lied about being his uncle and Alexis, well, Natasha, lied about having a child. Elizabeth asked Nikolas if he would mind her sleeping on the couch that night and he was insulted by her request.

"-I am insulted you even asked. Of course you can, I'll leave you my bed if you want and I'll take the couch. Welcome to the family, cousin

-Thanks, I'm not used to the idea yet, but it'll grow on me. I have to call Alexis, I've been horrible to her, and she must have been in so much pain"

Lucky was stunned. Here she was, in pain, and she was thinking about her real mother, what she must've been going through. He told her that she never ceased to amaze him and she blushed.

"-Are you sure that Alexis is your mother? Asked Nikolas

-Well, what are the chances that the daughter she gave to strangers have the same birthmark than the adoptive daughter of people who has been handed a baby in Greece at the same period of time? Answered Lucky

-You are right Lucky, but will you pass tests? Just to be on the safe side?

-I don't know yet Nikolas. I don't even know what to say to Alexis when I call her. I can't just say "why didn't you love me like mothers are supposed to?

-want us to leave so you can call her? Asked Lucky

-NO! She said, taking his arm, don't ever leave me you hear?"

Lucky held her close, saying he wasn't going anywhere. Nikolas spent the evening telling her it was like to grow up in the Cassadine household, where she belonged growing up. Nikolas told her about the horses and the servants and the fact that he wasn't allowed to have any friends. Elizabeth talked about her own childhood, how she was always second best to Sarah and how her parents always left her behind. Nikolas and Elizabeth realized that, maybe they would've lived together and be each other's friend.

Lucky was feeling left out. Sure he was Nikolas' brother, so he was in the family, in a way, but they were talking about Cassadines so he felt like he didn't belong. He knew Elizabeth needed to feel like she belonged somewhere, but he was feeling guilty to think she didn't belong with the Cassadines but with him, and him only.

Elizabeth felt there was something wrong with Lucky. He hadn't said anything in a while. She took his hand in hers, and gently kissed him. Just by her gentle touch he was feeling better. She loved him, even though she was a Cassadine. Thinking that, he started to laugh really hard, and tears were in his eyes. He was laughing so much he was coughing. Elizabeth and Nikolas was looking at him like he was crazy. It took him at least 5 minutes to calm down. Every time he tried to tell them, he started laughing again.

"-Lucky, could you tell us so we can laugh with you? Nikolas asked

-It's just that I thought about something and it's too funny, he said, out of breath

-Tell us already! Said Elizabeth.

-Ok, Ok, I will. Now Elizabeth, you are, well not officially yet but still, a Cassadine right?

-Well, yeah

-MY DAD WILL FREAK OUT!!!!!! Lucky answered, bursting with laughing again. I had a mental picture of his face!!!!! I'm living with my brother, a Cassadine, and my girlfriend is a Cassadine too. His head will blow up!!!"

Nikolas and Elizabeth were laughing as hard as Lucky. Luke would freak out! Probably kill himself. His own son, befriending a Cassadine. Worst, love her! Every time one of them stopped laughing, the others would laugh harder and the three of them would laughing again. Elizabeth was forgetting her problems, until a knock came on the door. Nikolas stopped laughing and opened the door.

On the other side was Alexis. She looked over Nikolas' shoulder, and smiled at her nephew.

"-Hi Lucky, Elizabeth. Hum, Nikolas, can I see you outside for a minute? She asked

-Of course.

-Oh no, you can talk in here, Lucky and I will go in his room, come on Lucky, said Elizabeth"

They went in the boy's room, as Nikolas and his aunt sat on the couch. Alexis was nervous. She turned at Nikolas and smiled.

"-I know you must be angry with me Nikolas and I want you to know I understand. You must be re-living the nightmare you had with Stefan

-No I'm not. First of all, you didn't lie, just didn't mention it to me. Second of all, it's between you and Elizabeth. Can I just ask you why you gave her though?

-Nikolas, I loved my daughter to death, still do. There was not a day that went by that I didn't think about her. I gave her to the strangers because Helena had threaten to kill her during the night. She said there was no way there would be another child to claim your inheritance. If she had known you were Stefan's, she would probably had tried to kill you too.

-I know my grandmother is horrible, but she wouldn't have killed an infant in her cradle.

-Oh yes she would've. She killed my mother and she tried to kill me more than once. It was safer to give my baby than to have her killed. I just wanted you to know that before you judged me

-Don't you think you should tell that to Elizabeth?

-I told her to call me when she was ready to hear the truth. I will tell her as soon as she does."

Alexis got up and held Nikolas. She was dying to hold Elizabeth too, but she didn't want to rush things. She shouted bye, to be sure they knew she was going and, before she passed the door, she heard in her back.

"-Alexis?"

The lady turned around and saw Elizabeth standing in the middle of the living room. Lucky pressed her shoulder, as if he wanted to give the girl the strength to go on. Alexis smiled at how Lucky was good for Liz.

"-Are you free for lunch tomorrow? Say noon at Kelly's? My treat?

-I'd love to. Want me to meet you there?

-Sure, see you tomorrow

-Bye Elizabeth, Alexis said with a smile on her face. Lucky

-Bye Ms. Davis"

Elizabeth smiled at Lucky, as he held her close. She broke the embrace, look at both brothers and said;

"-I'm having lunch with my mom tomorrow."
