Letters. She still remembered each and every little word of the last letter she wrote to Lucky, a little over two years ago, when she told him it was over between them. She didn't exactly told him the truth about why, but she told what he needed to know, that their relation was too serious for her. They were only 16, needed to see other people, experience other stuff, see the world. He wrote her back, but she didn't answer his letter. He even tried showing up at her father's castle, after she told him his trip was canceled. Sergei gave him the money he spent for the plane tickets, and he sent him back to Port Charles, without seeing Elizabeth. Lucky came back the next day, and the day after that, but then Sergei got mad, and the fourth day, Lucky was escorted out of the Castle by two guards. That was the last time Elizabeth heard of him.
Sure, she came back to Port Charles last year, to see Audrey, but she didn't see or hear from Lucky the whole time she was here, which was two weeks. Audrey told her he was still living with Nikolas, at the same apartment, but Elizabeth didn't go there. She didn't contact Nikolas either. There were some things she didn't want to explain. He wouldn't understand anyway. Or would he?
"-Elizabeth, stop. What you did was for the best, she said to herself"
But she wasn't sure anymore. She broke Lucky's heart, and hers, for a stupidity. They could've used protection next time. But she was so scared at the time, she didn't think straight. All she could think was the fact that maybe she was pregnant from their night at the cabin, and that she would be like her mother, a teenage mother. She waited for her periods, and they came 2 weeks late. That is when she wrote the letter to Lucky. She knew he would've stayed by her side if she had been pregnant, but then, she didn't want to take any chance again. What if they didn't think about protection and spent another night together and that she did get pregnant? What would she do then? She knew that Lucky would've respected her wishes, if she didn't want to make love to him anymore, but she was sure she wouldn't respect them. He was too sexy, too good at making her feel like a woman and that was too much for her at the time. SHE WASN'T A WOMAN, SHE WAS STILL A KID!
That was two years ago, and her heart still belonged to her first lover, Lucky. Sergei tried to make her forget him. He knew about everything. In the two years she spent with him, he became her best friend, her confident. She was very close to her half- brother Vladimir too, after he found out she wasn't after the throne. She would miss them like crazy and she knew they would miss her too. But Sergei promised to bring Vladimir for visits. What would be the hardest was to live so close to Lucky and knowing she had no right to go see him, claim his as her own again. He probably had his life, a girlfriend, a job, school, everything. She wouldn't look for him, but if he happened to cross her path, she would ask him how he was. She was dying to know. But she would definitely go see her cousin and uncle. She saw Stefan a couple of times in the two years she was in Russia, and she had grown rather fond of him. He looked cold and heartless, but he was funny and loving once she got to know him. She was even calling him Uncle.
"-Attention ladies and gentlemen we are now ready to land, if you would fasten your seat belts we will be in Port Charles soon"
Elizabeth took a deep breath and buckled her belt. That was it, she was home, where she belonged. Audrey would be waiting for her, Sarah would be too. Elizabeth kept a correspondence with Sarah, and they became friends, something they never could do when they were "sisters".
At the gate, Elizabeth saw Audrey waving, and Sarah was next to her. Nikolas and Stefan were there too. Elizabeth jumped in her grandmother's arms, and Sarah joined the embrace. She held Nikolas and Stefan right after. She was right, this was home.

Elizabeth was sitting at the kitchen table, drinking iced tea with Nikolas. Ever since she came back, she saw her cousin at least once a day, for the last two weeks. Nikolas told her he didn't tell Lucky she was back, at her own request. Nikolas was dying to ask her why she left him, but he didn't want to pry. When she would be ready to talk about it, he would be there to listen. Besides from Lucky, Elizabeth was the boy's best friend. Even though he wasn't really a boy anymore. But with Liz, he could be himself. They even had some serious food fight and water balloon fight since she got back. Lucky was sure Nikolas had a new girlfriend, but he wasn't asking about it.
Nikolas left, so that Elizabeth could get ready. She was going to see Ruby, see if she could have her old job back. Even though Sergei was paying for her tuition, she still wanted to be self-sufficient.
Walking through the park, she remembered all those times she went there with Lucky. This is where they met, where they fell in love, because it was love at first sight. She heard a guitar playing, not too far from where she was. It was coming from the bench where she met Lucky, more than 2 years and a half ago. She saw a guy, sitting there, playing some musical notes. Her heart stopped. He was so handsome. He was looking at his instrument, not paying attention to anything around him. He was even taller than the last time she saw him, by a foot maybe. Her angel. She was about to let him know she was there, when he started playing a tune. She backed out and listened;
Do you remember
How we'd hold each other tight
It was all I had
To get me through the night
I can't believe that you are gone
Everything right it all went wrong
Do you remember
How we kissed
You said you never felt like this
I guess I though it'd never end
You know that you were my best friend
I cried
And I don't care who knows it
I cried
I ain't to proud to show it
I cried
When you said good bye
Oh baby
I cried
I wonder if you ever think of me
Or am I just another distant memory
And after all we've been through
It's just so hard to give up on you
I cried
And I don't care who knows it
I cried
I ain't to proud to show it
I cried
When you said good bye
Elizabeth wiped the tears from her eyes. This was the most beautiful song she ever heard. Somehow, she was sure Lucky was talking about her. He was still in love with her, still missing her. It was incredible. All her dreams could still come true, with Lucky by her side. Smiling, she started to walk towards him, when she saw him lift his head and look in the other direction. A beautiful girl was walking and he got up, and took her in his arms, looking really happy to see her. Elizabeth turned away and ran away.
