Chapter 18

"-What's her problem? Asked the girl, looking over Lucky's shoulder"

Lucky turned around, just to see a girl running away. That body, that flock of hair, he would recognize it anywhere.

"-Oh My God Jackie, that was Elizabeth! He said

-Well what are you waiting for? Run after her!

-What's the use? She left me remember?

-Well, how can I remember? You only told me she left, never told me why. Ready to talk about it?"

Lucky sighed, sitting on the bench. He couldn't believe she was back in Port Charles. He reached into his shirt pocket and gave a paper to Jackie. Maybe she could help him understand what he did wrong. Maybe she could understand what happened. She took the paper and opened it. It was a letter, dated July 6th, 1999.

"-You kept it on you? Jackie asked

-Never left me. I changed shirts, the letter followed. But read it ok?"

"Lucky,

I know you are probably getting ready to come see me in two weeks, but that is why I'm writing to you. To ask you not to come. You see, ever since we've been apart, I've been thinking, and the conclusion I came to is that we are too serious with each other. I am only 16, and I already have a steady boyfriend and I am in a sexual relationship and that is too much for me. I want to get to know other people, see what I'm missing, see the world, live! I am sorry if I hurt you, that is not intentional, but that is how I feel. We said no lie, and, by continuing this relationship will be, for me, a lie. I am not ready to be tied down to someone, even though I thought I was. You will always have a special place in my heart and if I ever come back to Port Charles, maybe we could be friends like in the beginning. I want you to find someone who will give you what I obviously can't.

Take care Lucky, hope you are not too mad.

Lizzie"

Jackie didn't know what to say. Who did she think she was to leave him like that, without even a warning? Lucky was the best man she had ever met, he didn't deserve to be treated this way!

"-I went to see her, but she wouldn't accept to see me. She had her father send me away with his guards and I've been told never to come back. I don't know nothing except what is said in this letter Jackie. I'm so desperate. I love her. Even after two years, I still love her like crazy. Couldn't forget about her while she was miles away, how am I going to do it with her back here? Said Lucky

-Well, no offense Lucky, but you are better off without her. You don't deserve to be treated this way!

-Jackie, Elizabeth is the most incredible person I have ever met. She is kind, generous, funny, smart, and more. I must've done something to piss her or something.

-Oh come on! Stop protecting her! She probably dumped you because she met a prince or something, or she thought us Spencer are not good enough for her Majesty!"

Lucky smiled at his half sister. She always spoke her mind, just like their father. Lucky remembered the exact day he met Jackie. He was outside Kelly's having breakfast, when she came up to him, asking him if he knew Luke Spencer. That is when he knew she was from out of town. Everybody knew he was Luke's son. He asked her why he was looking for him and she answered that it was none of his business. In that moment, Luke came from the inside and heard the girl asking about him.

Luke was shock to hear that she was his daughter, the result of an affair he had when he thought Laura was dead. Nelly, the girl's mother, died a couple of months ago, and the teenage girl spent those months looking for her father. Luke loved her right away, so did she. Lucky had a little problem with having a half sister, but they connected sooner than he did with Nikolas, cause she was actually a lot like Lucky.

She quickly became his best friend, and that was soon after Elizabeth had dumped him. Lucky was with her when she changed her name from Thomas to Spencer-Thomas. She didn't want to lose her mother's name, but she wanted her father's as well. Laura was not pleased with the girl's arrival, but she took her in her home anyway. They got into fights a lot, but Lucky had asked his sister to easy the deal on his mother, and, since then, they were getting along a little better.

"-Besides, she saw you and ran off. I don't mean to be cruel, but you have to take a hint brother

-I know, I know, I will, someday"

Lucky stayed with her a couple more minutes, then left, telling her he hand errands to run. He went to the Hardy house. If Elizabeth was back, he would find her here. He had to see her, talk to her. She probably heard the song he sang, and he wanted her to know he wrote it after he came back from Russia, and sang it at least once a week. He was masochist, but he needed to sing it. He saw her light in her old window, and he climbed it. She was sitting on her bed, twisting a flock of her hair around her finger. Lucky's heart was about to leap out of his chest. He still loved her so much, he missed her so much. Before he could stop himself, he saw his fingers knocking on the widow. Elizabeth jumped and turned her head. Lucky wanted to hide but it was too late, she was coming to the window and opened it.

Lucky got in and they stood in front of each other, not knowing what to say. Lucky was the first to break the silence;

"-Hi Elizabeth, or should I say Kristina?

-Hi Lucky, Elizabeth's fine. How did you know I was back?

-Well, I kinda saw you running off from the park. Was it because of me?

-I just forgot something, I honestly didn't see you there. I'm sorry. How have you been?

-Good. Alive. So much has happened since you left. How about you? Are you back for good?

-I'm going to PCU this semester. That is why I'm back. Are you going to college?

-PCU too. Computer science. Well, glad to see you are back. I'll see you around!"

Lucky turned around. He didn't want to leave, but she obviously didn't want him there. He was half-way to the window when she called him back;

"-Lucky, do you have to go so soon? She said

-Not really, but I thought you were going somewhere

-That can wait. Come and sit down, if that's ok with you

-Sure"

He pulled a chair to her bed and sat on it. They were looking at each other, staring at each other. Elizabeth smiled at him, and asked him what he had been up to.

"-Well, nothing much. My family had another skeleton out of the closet. My dad had a daughter back to when my mom was missing. Her name is Jackie. She showed up here two years ago at this time of year, looking for her father, which turned out to be mine. But, unlike my mother with Nikolas, he didn't even knew she existed.

-Really? Wow. Did you know I had a brother?

-You do?

-Yeah, his name's Vladimir. We are OK with each other

-Yeah, me and Jackie are cool. She was in the park with me earlier. She is the one who saw you run off."

Elizabeth was stunned. HIS SISTER? She was his sister? A big uncontrollable smile came to her face. Lucky smiled back, and they stared once again at each other. Lucky got up, saying he didn't want to wear out his welcome, and Elizabeth laughed. It was the same sentence she used when she had something to tell him and was chickening out, all these months ago at his apartment. She walked him up to the window frame. Just before he got out, Lucky turned around, facing her, and gave her a kiss on the cheek, the corner of his mouth kissing her lips.

"-I'll see you around Elizabeth

-Sure. I'm on my way to see Ruby, to get my old job back

-What, your father didn't give you a full bank account?"

She was about to answer when she saw he was only kidding her.

"-Get out of here before I push you down! She said, shoveling his shoulder a little.

-I'd just like to see you try, he said, his feet touching the cement of the drive-way

-Lucky? She said when he started to walk away

-Yeah? He answered, turning around

-I loved your song"

Lucky, smiling, blew a kiss at her, and went back to the park, to see if his sister was waiting for him.
