"-Come on Cowboy, you can do better than that!
-I'm trying!"
Lucky laughed at his son. Zach was a perfectionist, he just loved to tease him. They were in the backyard, playing catch. Zach had a game this Saturday, and he wanted to throw one mean curb. Lucky thought it was perfect, but Zach was mad because Nikolas was still able to hit it. The boy didn't want to understand that Nik was an adult.
"-Uncle Nik, what do you say we take a break? Said Zach
-That's fine with me!
-Hey woman, bring us a couple of cold ones would ya?
-Since you ask it so nicely, GET'EM YOURSELF! Said Elizabeth from the kitchen window"
Lucky laughed and got up, saying he would be right back. Zach ran and sat on his uncle's lap, and Nikolas held him tight. The man and the boy had a really close relationship, kind of like Nikolas had with Stefan when he was young. Nikolas always wanted to have a son, but he had three daughters, whom he loved with all his heart. Paige was 8 years old now, Natasha just turned 5, and Naomi was just 2.
"-Hey, the men out there, why don't you come in here for a while, spend some time with the ladies huh? Nikolas heard
-Coming aunt Emily, answered Zach
-Guess we're busted huh? We are doomed to look at your cousins play with Barbies
-Well, it could be worst
-Oh yeah? How?
-We could be stuck to play with them!"
Zach came in the kitchen and looked at his parents. They were in each other's arms, slowly dancing, kissing each other gently, but Zach tried to listen, THERE WAS NO MUSIC!
"-EEEW GET A ROOM YOU TWO!"
Lucky smiled at his son, saying he too would find someone who would make him dance in the middle of the kitchen. Zach pretended to gag, and went in the living to be with his uncle, aunt and cousins. Elizabeth joined them soon after.
"-Sorry about that, Lucky didn't want to let me go! Said Elizabeth, blushing
-That's no problem Liz, answered Emily, smiling
-It is a problem! They are joined by the lips or something! Said Zach, getting everybody to laugh"
Zach picked his little cousin up and started to dance, imitating his parents, getting Naomi to giggle, while the adults were laughing. Zach wouldn't admit it, but he just loved the fact that his parents were still so much in love, just like his grandparents were. Luke and Laura were a legend around Port Charles, and Lucky and Liz were too. Even his best friend, Cory, heard about how Lucky was over-protective of Liz back where they were in high school. Cory's dad was one of Lucky's old friend, and Cory told Zach that everyone knew, even back then, that Lucky and Liz were together for life.
"-I'll be back in an hour, after Ian's guitar lesson, said Lucky
-Be careful, said Liz
-I always am!"
Lucky kissed her gently, brushed Zach's hair, kissed his three nieces and took his youngest son by the hand. Ian was shy, like his aunt Lesley Lu. The kid was only talking when they were only Lucky, Elizabeth, Zach and him. Even though he knew everyone since he was born, Ian didn't open up to anyone, just smiling when someone was talking to him. The guitar lessons were a way for the 5 year old to express himself, and Lucky was glad he was into music, while Zach was only into sports. Ian smiled at his dad, and they went on their way.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zach was all dressed up, waiting for Nikolas and Emily to pick him up. They had a big surprise planned for the boy's parents, and he couldn't wait to see their faces. Today was their 10th wedding anniversary, and Zach, Ian, Nikolas, Emily, Laura and Luke planned a big party for them. So far, they thought they were only going to the restaurant, to celebrate. Luke would be picking Zach's parents, bring them to the reception, after they spent the day alone. Zach knew where his parents spent their day together. They found that romantic, he found that stupid. They spent their 10th anniversary in an abandoned boxcar, where they fell in love, Lucky said.
Lucky was with Liz, kissing her gently, sitting on "their" couch. Even after 11 years, the paintings Elizabeth did were still there. Faded, but still there. Lucky told her they would always be there, to shine on their love.
"-Wanna dance? Lucky asked, after he got up
-Lucky there's no music
-And since when do we need music?"
Elizabeth got up and laughed. Lucky was right. She couldn't tell how many times they danced, alone, with only a melody in their heads. She put her head on his shoulder, a part of him she knew by heart. Well, she knew every part of him by heart, but his shoulders were her favorite. So strong, carrying the world without even flinching. How many times did she lean on them to carry her stuff after the rape? How many times her tears of frustration and desperation soaked them? And yet, they were still so soft. She heard Lucky take a deep breath and she knew he was about to do what she loved the most. Sing to her while they danced. She wondered what song it would be this time;
"All I am, all I'll be
Everything in this world
All that I'll ever need
Is in your eyes
Shining at me
When you smile I can feel
All my passion unfolding
Your hand brushes mine
And a thousand sensations
Seduce me ‘cause
I do cherish you
For the rest of my life
You don't have to think twice
I will love you still
From the depths of my soul
It's beyond my control
I've waited so long to say this to you
If you ask me do I love you this much
I do
In my world, before you
I lived outside my emotions
Didn't know where I was going
‘Til that day I found you
How you opened my life
To a new paradise
In a world torn by change
Still with all of my heart
‘Til my dying day
I do cherish you
For the rest of my life
You don't have to think twice
I will love you still
From the depths of my soul
It's beyond my control
I've waited so long to say this to you
If you ask me do I love you this much
I do"
Elizabeth was still amazed. How did he do it? How did he always know which song to sing? She just loved that song, and Lucky knew it. He slowly kissed her, as they were still dancing. Lucky then said it was about time they went home, Luke would be waiting for them.
Lucky got down and helped Liz. They were taking 11 years back, when she fell in his arms. And, just like 11 years ago, Lucky slowly got his lips on hers, kissed her gently, before getting back to look deep into her soul, leaned down again to kiss her another time. Elizabeth was smiling when they stopped kissing, and so was Lucky. He whispered;
"-I love you"
Before taking her hand and slowly walked with her to their house, their home. Their life.
