Chapter 4

Elizabeth woke up and her room was dark. She had troubles remembering where she was when it all came back. She was in her new room, at her grandmother's house. The girl got up and went downstairs, only to find a note on the kitchen table;

"Dear Elizabeth,

I am so sorry I won't be there when you wake up, but an emergency got me to go back to GH. Maybe, of you call Lucky, you two could do something together so you won't feel alone. Don't wait up for me, I will be home late.

Love, Audrey"

Elizabeth was a bit upset. Not that her grandmother was gone, but in the fact that she was home alone on a Saturday night. As for calling Lucky, he gave her everything except his phone number!

Elizabeth got dressed and went for a walk. She got herself in front of the park without even knowing why. She was scared of being there. Her, the almighty Elizabeth Webber scared of a little park at 7 on a Saturday night. Why? Something about her was odd but she couldn't remember what. And it was killing her.

She found herself in front of a restaurant, Kelly's, and then she remembered what Lucky said about it. She worked there. She opened the door and sat at the counter. A tall, blond woman looked at her, then smiled.

‘-Elizabeth, I'm so glad you are back! Since when are you out of the hospital?

-This morning.

-I hope you don't want to come back to work right away? Take time to recover, your job will still be here when you are ready.

-Thanks. Hum, you wouldn't happen to have Lucky's phone number handy do you?

-What you do remember it?"

Elizabeth was mad, way mad, even though she knew it would happen. Until the whole town knew about her condition, she would have to answer questions like that.

"-Well, I'm surprised you haven't heard yet, she said, sarcastically, I lost my memory after the accident and frankly, I don't even know who you are!

-Oh Elizabeth I am so sorry. I'm Tammy, your boss and hold on, I'll get Lucky's phone number"

So she was Tammy? The Tammy Lucky was so fond of. Well, to Elizabeth, she just looked like Barbie who didn't want to age! Looked like she moped the floor with her head! She didn't like her. Didn't like her at all. Why didn't she lurked men her own age instead of chasing a teenager? The lady came back with a piece of paper and gave it to Liz, along with the phone. Elizabeth waited for her to be gone, and called Lucky.

"-Nikolas for the fourth time I am OK and I don't want to talk about this anymore!

-Lucky?

-Oh hi Elizabeth, I thought it was my brother again.

-Sorry to disappoint you! She answered with a smile.

-Oh no, I'm glad it's you. What's up?

-Well, I have the house all to myself, Gram won't be home till really late, I thought maybe you could come over, bring a movie, and we'll see what the night has to offer?

-Great! What kind of movie?

-I don't mind, the little we'll be watching of it anyway.

-Ok, said Lucky, uneasy, I'll see you in a bit

-I'll be waiting for you"

Elizabeth hung up and smiled. She didn't believe him when he said they were not lovers. Come on, they had been going out for a year! Maybe she didn't remember anything about him, but at least they could fool around a little. He would get "his" Elizabeth back for a while, and she would get to make out with a really, really cute guy.

On her way home she stopped at the store. She was in need of cigarettes. She hadn't smoke since she woke up in the hospital and she was about to kill someone if she didn't have her nicotine soon. When she finally got home, Lucky was sitting on the porch, throwing stones in the grass. When he saw her he got up and smiled but stopped in the middle of his action when he saw her with a cigarette in her mouth.

"-Hi, what's wrong? She asked

-Well, it's just that I haven't seen you with a smoke in nearly two years.

-What? You mean to tell me I had stopped smoking?

-Yeah you did.

-Oh well, just think of it as me, starting again.

-If you say so"

They got in the house and Lucky put the movie on. It was a romantic comedy, the kind he knew Liz liked. He sat on the couch, and she sat next to him. He saw her roll her eyes when she saw the movie.

"-What's wrong? He asked

-Don't tell me you like these cheesy movies? She replied

-No, but I thought you did

-Please! She answered"

Lucky realized that, once again, he forgot he was dealing with the old Liz. He watched the movie for a while, when he felt Elizabeth's arm around his neck. She was getting closer to him and, by doing so, making him a little nervous. She was trying to get him to look at her, he knew it, but didn't want to. He finally looked at her when she called his name, and, as soon as his head was in her direction, she took his mouth prisoner with a soft kiss.

Lucky tried to stop himself from going crazy. It wasn't Elizabeth, well, not the one he was in love with anyway. Sure he liked the fact that she wasn't haunted by the rape anymore, but she was moving too fast. After all, in her eyes, they had just met. His head was telling him to pull back, but his heart was staying in her arms. He kept saying to himself "just a little more, just a little more" or "one for the road and then that's it", but he was still kissing her passionately.

Elizabeth was leaning down on the couch, pulling Lucky on her. She was feeling he was hesitating, but she really wanted to be with him. She liked him a lot, and, to make him understand, she was trying to give him what she thought he wanted. He had both his hands on her sides. She took one of them, and put it under her shirt, at the exact same place it was before.

Lucky broke the kiss as soon as he felt her skin under his right hand. He couldn't do this. Kissing her while she didn't remember him was one thing, but caressing her and moving on her was another. Taking advantage of the fact that she wasn't scare was like raping her, in a way. And he wouldn't do that to her, he was not able to do that to her. He got up and looked around, disoriented, passing a hand in his hair.

"-What's wrong Lucky? She asked

-I'm sorry Elizabeth, I can't do this!

-Do what?

-THIS! Elizabeth, even though I know you and love you, you haven't known me for more than a week! You shouldn't be making a move on me!

-I do what I want Spencer! You don't want to be with me FINE! There is plenty of guy in this town who will!

-Elizabeth! He said while she was passing in front of him to go up to her room. ELIZABETH!"

He heard the door slam. He knew she was mad at him for pushing her away, and she would make him regret it, but he couldn't do it. It was wrong! He took the movie and went home. He would call her in a couple of hours, when she would've cooled down a little.

Elizabeth waited for him to leave and got up again. She still couldn't believe he pushed her away. Wasn't he in love with her? Why did he push her away? Did they already do it and she was horrible at it?

"-That's it Spencer, she said out loud, you had your chance, now I'm having fun!"

She went over to Kelly's and saw a guy, sitting by himself in the corner. He looked her age so she was sure he knew her. Getting her hair fixed in the mirror, she walked up to him.

"-Hi, she said

-Oh hey Liz, glad you are feeling OK, how are you?

-I'm great! What are you doing here by yourself on a Saturday night?

-Well, no dates, so I figured I could study. You?

-Actually, I'm looking for something to do, she answered with a smile. Wanna do something with me?

-No offense Liz, you're beautiful and all, but I don't think my mom wants to read my name in the mortuary tomorrow morning.

-What do you mean?

-Well, I don't want her to read : "Mark Sinclair was found dead last night, killed by Elizabeth's Webber jealous boyfriend

-Lucky and I decided it was time to see other people."

At the same time, Lucky walked in and saw Elizabeth, sitting with Mark. He wanted to kill the guy, but he had no right to do so. Instead, he waved at them and sat at the counter.

"-Well, what do you know! Mark said

-So, Mark, you up for it?

-Sure, let's go!"

Lucky saw them leave and it took every once of energy he had left not to tun after them.
