"-Lucky?
-Hmm?
-You awake?
-Yeah. Robert said with a sigh
-Is that a banana in your pocket or are you just real happy to be close to me?"
Robert’s heart skipped a beat. Come on, it wasn’t that big, she couldn’t possibly be feeling it.
"-What do you mean? He asked
-I was just teasing, I was looking for something to say. I hate silence. I can think and you know how much I hate that.
-What do you want to talk about?
-I don’t know. Do you ever think about "Us"?
-What do you mean, Us?
-Well, what our lives would’ve been like if you hadn’t been shot?
-I used to. Robert sighed. When I got my memory back, I used to think about it all the time. I just wanted to pick up where we left off. But then I heard about your marriage, I knew there was no chance for us, so I stopped.
-Me too. I used to think about it all the time. At night mostly, when I was aching for you to hold me. I was pregnant and every time the baby moved, I would cry, thinking you would never be able to put your hand on my belly to feel it. I vowed to myself a long time ago that my kids wouldn’t grow up without his two parents, or at least a mother figure and a father figure and it was killing me to know you wouldn’t be there
-Is that why you married Nikolas?
-Basically, yes. I wanted our son not to miss out on having a man in his life because you risked yours to save mine. Nikolas proposed a marriage in name only, but somewhere along the line he fell in love with me. I thought it wasn’t fair for him to be married and not have a chance at a real family, so I decided I would really be his wife, even though it killed me. I made it clear to him I wasn’t in love with him and I would probably never be, but he accepted anyway. I was happy. He provided a good life for me, Lucky, Stefan and Lu Ann. He is a good father, when he is there.
-But you aren’t happy anymore. Why is that?
-Because you came back"
Robert felt like he’s been hit again. She wasn’t happy he came back, then why did she insisted on coming with him. Once again, with her, he went into what Kiara called "His Robert mode" and said coldly.
"-I’m sorry I put a stop on your happiness"
He wanted to get up but to where? They didn’t have any room to move in that closet. Finally, he had an idea. He pushed her away from him and got up. He took a hanger and looked for a hole in the doorknob. He found one. 5 minutes later, the door was unlocked. The only problem was the chair on the other side. Elizabeth started to laugh and took her cell phone out of her purse.
"-Why didn’t you take it out before? Asked Robert, mad
-Because I forgot about it, gee, can you be a little more rude?
-I believe I can be. Wanna see?"
Elizabeth groaned and called the front desk. Two minutes later the clerk was opening the door. Robert jumped out like his life depended on it and went to wait for Elizabeth in the car. She joined him and they started their journey in silence.
Robert pulled in front of a tiny hotel in the middle of Las Vegas. Elizabeth kept arguing they probably went in a big hotel to be incognito, but Robert kept saying that was exactly what Lucky was expecting them to do so he would choose something small and intimate. They went inside and Robert discovered there was a wedding for one Lucas Lorenzo Spencer Junior to wed Kiara Elizabeth Jackson. Robert blushed when she said Kiara’s middle name. At that time he didn’t know who Elizabeth was, but he was always fighting with Montana for her daughter to be named Elizabeth. They had agreed it would be the baby’s middle name. He had forgotten about that.
They opened the door of the chapel and Robert’s heart broke. Kiara was at the altar, holding Lucky’s hand. She was wearing a white dress and Lucky was wearing a tux.
"-If anyone knows a reason why these two people should not be joined in holy matrimony let them speak now, or forever hold your peace
-I do"
Everyone looked in the back of the church and Lucky’s eyes were filled with anger when he saw his father and mother. Robert walked up the aisle quickly and stood next to Kiara.
"-You look beautiful. Robert whispered
-Dad, get out of here. Lucky said through his teeth.
-I won’t let them get married if I’m not there to give my daughter away"
Kiara smiled at her father and looked back at the priest. Robert squeezed her hand and went to sit next to Liz on the first bench. They listened to the priest ask the two teenagers to promise their love to one another and Liz felt Robert take the hand on her thigh. They locked eyes and smiled.
After the ceremony, Lucky asked Robert and Elizabeth to join them for dinner. The boy didn’t really want his father there, but Kiara wanted him to be, so Lucky obliged. They decided to try one more time to get them together. They went to this little restaurant, all decorated from the 90s with music from that period. Making them remember what they had was gonna help them figure out what they could still have.
They were all laughing and joking, Robert with pride in his eyes for both his children. They were determined to be together despite everything and their love was strong enough. They had decided to live with Robert for the time being, he would give them the master bedroom and take Kiara’s old room. Lucky went up and talked to the DJ, while Kiara and Elizabeth went to the bathroom. Once in there, Elizabeth took the girl in her arms and welcomed her to her family.
"-And I love the name you choose for you dad’s company
-I beg your pardon?
-Robert told me you were the one who chose Symbiotic.
-Well Robert was teasing you because he never asked me to choose the name. When I wanted to he said he already had it"
Elizabeth went back to her place, smiling. She knew it. She knew he was lying. Then it hit her. What if he was still in love with her? Then why did he get mad when she said she wasn’t happy since he returned since she wasn’t with him? What if he misunderstood what she meant? A melody started and Lucky took Kiara’s hand. Robert turned and smiled at Elizabeth.
"-What do you say we join them?"
Elizabeth got up and took his hand. They didn’t see Lucky smile at Kiara and they didn’t hear him whisper "I chose the song, I told the DJ to play it especially for them"

"-Watch this. Whispered Lucky, showing his mother and father"
Robert broke the dance and looked at Liz with a smile.
"-I think we’ve been had. He whispered
-What do you mean? She whispered back
-They want us together. Lucky is the one who asked for this song, he knew I would ask you to dance
-Why do they want us together?
-I have no idea but they are watching us right now, waiting for us to kiss"
Elizabeth slowly turned her head and saw Kiara and Lucky looking at them. She stuck her tongue and went to her chair.
