"-I hope you are ready to raise the babies alone if necessary. Laura said
-Lucky won't leave me Laura. He loves me and we will raise the babies together
-I know you want to believe that, and II do too. I know he loves you, but Lucky is, after all, his father's son, and when something gets complicated for Luke, he runs from it, instead of taking care of it, and Lucky is no different. Look how he reacted when he learned about the incident at Campus Disco all those years ago. He ran. I'm afraid, if something comes up, he will run, leaving you alone to raise the children."
Elizabeth didn't want to believe that. Lucky would never leave her and the babies, he loved them to death, but Laura was right. Lucky doesn't face his problems, she thought, he runs away from them. What would she do if, one day God forbid, they have a huge fight and he leaves, leaving her and the babies? What would she do then?
Now, sitting alone at the kitchen table, Elizabeth was still thinking about what Laura said. Lucky was at his dad's club, preparing the place for a party that night. Ned Ashton was performing as Eddie Maine. Elizabeth was supposed to attend, but she didn't feel like it. She was tired and she was depressed. She couldn't wait until the babies were born. Her hormones were raging, and most of the time it was poor Lucky that ended up with the mouthing off.
A knock on the door woke her up from her thoughts. It was Sarah. She wanted to know how Liz was feeling. The young Webber girl was happy to see her sister but, deep down inside, she was afraid of her. After all, Lucky did fall for her in the first place. He did dump Elizabeth on valentine's day to be with her. Granted, it was over two years ago, and a lot had happened since then, but Liz was still insecure where her sister was concerned.
Sarah looked disappointed when Elizabeth told her Lucky wasn't there. Liz's heart missed a beat when she saw Sarah's face at that very moment. Sarah did had a thing for Lucky. She was over Nikolas! Elizabeth felt a little dizzy. Why now? When everything was going great!
Sarah stayed for half an hour, saying she had an errand to run and that she would be back later. Elizabeth thought "yeah, when my husband will be here". She hated her sister at that moment, almost as much as she did when she came to Port Charles three years ago.
when Lucky came home later that afternoon, Liz told him she didn't feel very well and that she would stay home that night. Lucky looked panicked and told her she had to be there. He asked her if everything was alright, when he saw her start crying. This was normal, so he didn't pay that much attention to it. He didn't see the desperation in her embrace, didn't feel the pain in her kisses. After a while, Liz agreed to go, to make Lucky happy. But Sarah would be there. And that was not making him happy.
They arrived at Luke's early, but a couple of people were already there. Ned was getting ready in Luke's office and Lucky told Liz he would go see if everything was alright for Ned. Elizabeth saw Emily and went sit down with her and Nikolas. Sarah walked through the doors a little later and, when she saw her sister, she went to sit with them, without waiting for the invitation. Nikolas had his arm around Emily's shoulder, to show Sarah not to try anything stupid.
When Lucky came out and saw Sarah there, his heart stopped. She was with Elizabeth! Why? Now he'd have to spend the evening with her. Lucky sat next to his wife, and smiled at her. Elizabeth smiled back, her heart racing a hundred miles a minute, just like every time he smiled at her. Sarah was looking at them, with envy in her eyes. Lucky wanted to tell her to go home and leave them alone. He had to put her with her, for his wife's sake.
Ned got up on stage, and everyone applaud. He sang a couple of songs, and, during his time on stage, lucky told Elizabeth he had to go to the bathroom. After a while, Ned took the microphone and talked to the audience.
"-Are you having fun? (Everybody agreed). Well, tonight, Luke's is proud to present a newcomer in the business. A lot of you already heard him sing at his wedding party, where he sang a song he had written for his wife on their wedding night. Tonight, he will sing you the very first song he wrote for her two years ago. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present you Luke's very own son, Lucky Spencer"
Elizabeth was stunned. Lucky? On stage? Tonight? So this was why he wanted her to go so much. AND HE WAS GOING TO SING ELIZABETH?
"-Thanks Eddie. Lucky said. I'm glad you are having a good time, I'll try not to make this too painful. (Everybody laughed). Last time I sang on stage, people begged me to get back on. I decided to do it tonight. I have a new song too. My wife knows the first one, she stumbled upon it, when I didn't want her to hear it. Now, I wrote another one, hope she likes this one too. Let's start with Elizabeth shall we? Lucky turned around and gave Sly his Ok, and guitars started to fill the room.
"As you kneel besides your bed tonight
Keep a little prayer for me insight
And know that I will be there when you call
Know that I will catch you if you might fall
Elizabeth go to sleep
I wanna watch you breathe
I wanna feel God's peace
All I want is this, Elizabeth
Elizabeth you need to get some rest
So lay your head down upon my chest
Release all your fears and regrets
It's not your fault life's a see through dress
Elizabeth, the night is gone
The sun has come
It's all been done
And all I want is this, Elizabeth
As you kneel beside you bed tonight
Keep a little prayer for me insight
Elizabeth"
Elizabeth was wiping the tears from her eyes, as everybody in the club was looking at her. She still couldn't believe he sang their song on stage, in front of everyone. Sarah was looking at her, with a disgust look on her face.
"-He wrote this beautiful song for you? She said, like it was a waist of talent"
Elizabeth was crushed. How could Sarah say something so mean to her? Because she was jealous, that was why. Elizabeth could relate, because she did worst to her.
"-I just want everyone to know how much I love you Elizabeth, Lucky said, with the mike in his hand. This next song, was also written for my wife, but, like you, this is the first time she hears it. I hope you like it Elizabeth"
"The first time I saw her...
I thought....she's cute.
The second time I saw her...
My opinion grew
But the more I see you,
the more I believe you..
the more I Fall in Love.
Now life is short..
as short as a candle
that lights your flame
if you can handle it.
But the more I hear you,
the more I was near you,
the more I fall in love.
My love....Je T'aime
My emotions running wild...
And you felt like a child again...
We weren't supposed to get this close.
But not overhead, a friendly hug at most.
But the more I feel it...
the more I conceal it...
the more it burned inside.
The last time I saw you...
How do you say goodbye...
how do you try to deny the truth...
It's all in the eyes
Your ruby lips...
and your hips...
a moon eclipse...
a moon eclipse..
Je t'aime"
Elizabeth was stunned. When did he have time to write this? Was he romantic or what? He still thought of her as his sweetheart, not as his wife. He still talked about her as if this was the first time he'd say I love you, as if he didn't sleep next to her everynight.
"-Well, it's been fun, thanks everyone. One more thing. I want you to know that I fall all over again for Elizabeth every time she smiles at me, so people, keep smiling, you never know who's watching. Goodnight!"
