"-Lizzie dearest, you spend too much time crying. What really happened between you and Lucky?
-Nothing Gram, I just miss him that's alll.
-If you say so. Well, I have a surprisee for you. When are you supposed to arrive at the Universities you applied to and were accepted?
-I have until two weeks after the classees started why?
-And when do the classes start?
-In three days, but why all these questiions?
-Well, I know you wanted to go to a big,, out-of-state University to be with Lucky, but you didn't get a scholarship, and I didn't have enough money to send you, but I took a second mortgage on the house and it's been cleared up. If you hurry, you'll be there within two days. I'll miss you, but your education is more important. If you can't find a place in the dorms, you'll have enough money to rent a small apartment. But I would rather know you are in a dorm.
-OH GRAM, THANK YOU! She said while hollding her grandmother"
She ran upstairs to pack. She couldn't wait to see Lucky. Now, there was no reason for them to be apart anymore. She had been accepted to all the universities she and Lucky applied to, and of course, she would go to the same one he was.
Everything was ready to go, and Gram was waiting to get her to the train station. Audrey told her that she wouldn't give her all the money, but when Elizabeth would need some, she would send it. That way, Liz wouldn't be tempted to spend it all at once.
In the train, Liz put her walkman on her ears and listened to the two songs Lucky had recorded for her. A guy sat next to her, and started talking with her. Liz took the earphones off, and listened politely to what he was saying. When he asked her where she was going, Liz realized he was interested in her so she answered;
"-I'm going to be with my husband
-You're husband? At your age?
-Yeah, we got married before he left forr the University, and now I'm joining him."
The guy said good luck, and went to sit with another woman. Liz was smiling, because she really liked the sound of that for Lucky: HER HUSBAND. It had a wonderful ring to her ear, husband. Mrs. Elizabeth Spencer. THE Mrs. Lucas Lorenzo Spencer Jr. Maybe Lucky would get his wish after all.
Arriving at the University she paid her cab-driver and went up the stairs of the dorm. There was a lot of noise, and a lot of guys but she walk with her head straight up. She was here to see Lucky, and Lucky only. She finally found his room, and she heard him play his guitar on the other side of the door. He was singing Elizabeth, and she knew he was thinking about her. She knocked on the door and she heard him yell "GO AWAY". But she just knocked harder. She heard him stop signing, put his guitar on the floor, and coming to the door. He opened it with a bang, but stopped the door half-way when he saw her. Elizabeth's heart was about to leap out of her chest, while Lucky stood there in shock
"-May I come in? She said, her hands shaking and nearly out of breath
-Yeah sure, he said, letting her pass
> -Wow, nice room. She said while turningg around to face him.
-Elizabeth, what are you doing here?
-I can go back if you are not happy to ssee me, she said while heading for the door
-Don't you dare, he said grabbing her byy the waist, and getting in her way"
She got closer to him and started kissing him. She put her arms around his neck, while he got closer to her. Her heart was beating so fast, she was about to faint. This was their most passionate kiss, and they were both out of breath when she pulled away from him. He held her close to him, with tears in his eyes. He never thought she would come back to him. He thought she was gone for good but there she was, responding to his embrace with all the strength she had inside. Regretfully, he pulled away, and looked straight in her eyes.
"-Don't get me wrong, I love having you here, but what are you doing here? I thought you said it was over between us, and that you needed some space, or should I shut up and take whatever passes while it passes?
-Lucky, sit down a minute please, she saaid, while she sat on his bed. She took his hand into hers, and smiled at him. The reason why I said those things was to get you to come here. I didn't want you to pass out this chance just to stay with me, and I also thought I wasn't ready for marriage either. Since you were gone, I was moping around the house, crying all the time, because I just knew a girl would snatch you up before you had a chance to come back. I thought I had lost you for good, so Gram went to the bank and got a second mortgage on her house, to pay for an out-of-state University. So I took the next train and here I am. I'm really sorry for the pain I caused you, but I really wanted you to make someone of yourself, and I just knew it wouldn't happen at PCU. Are you mad at me?
-Mad? No never. I can't tell you that I wasn't going crazy with pain, but I wasn't mad. I just didn't understand what I did wrong. I love you Elizabeth, that haven't change, and I'm sure it never will."
They were getting close to share another kiss, when the door opened. Lucky looked at Elizabeth and smile, before kissing her on the nose.
"-Hey Lucky, said the guy, looks like I'm intruding
-Hey man, it's your room too. Lucky answwered with a smile
-Can you imagine it's the first time I'vve seen him smiling? Hi, I'm his roommate, Greg, he said to Elizabeth
-Hi, Elizabeth, she answered, smiling baack
-So YOU'RE Elizabeth? Greg said
-Yeah why? She answered, looking at Luccky
-Oh Nothing, except he hasn't stop talkiing about you since I met him. It was about time you showed up. I was beginning to think you were his imaginary girlfriend, Greg answered, while Lucky tried to punch him."
Greg took a book, and head back out, saying bye to Lucky and Liz on his way out. Lucky smiled at Liz. He still couldn't believe she was there with him.
"-Now where were we, he said with a smile
-I think right about there"
She said, really close to is face. He kissed her gently on the lips, before pulling back.
"-Where are you staying? He asked her
-I honestly don't know. I was so exciteed about coming, I haven't even thought about that.
-Then we better check with the dorm to ssee if there's a room left! Come on"
They walked out of the building, hand in hand. Elizabeth knew that this was the best decision she could have ever take with her life. Lucky was a good man. The lady in charge of the dorm said that they didn't have any rooms left, so Elizabeth started to panic. Sure, Gram said she could rent an apartment, but how could she find one today, for TONIGHT? Lucky looked panicked too, but didn't say anything. He took her back to his room, so they could think of a plan.
When they arrived, Greg was there, reading a book. When he saw their faces, he asked them if they had seen a ghost. Lucky explained the situation to him and Greg smiled at them.
"-That's not really a problem, she can crash here tonight I don't care, as long as the supervisor doesn't see her.
-Yeah but where? Said Lucky
-In your bed silly! Answered Greg, I'm sure you too can snuggle together, just don't make too much noise, that's all I ask. Then he got back to his reading"
Lucky took Elizabeth in the hall, because he didn't want Greg to hear.
"-Maybe we should rent a motel room, and I could get the floor, just like old times
-This isn't old times Lucky, you have a room, I can get the motel.
-No way, Na-Han. There is no way you slleep along in a motel
-Lucky I will be Ok
-But I won't. I missed you to much to bbe separated from you. I know Greg probably thinks we are sleeping together, and I grant that it's none of his business, so let him think what he wants and we'll get a motel room together.
-What about your room then?
-Are you sure you are ok with that?
-Sure, we will be sleeping, so what's thhe harm? Come on, let's go in."
They talked a lot, about everything, holding each other. Lucky was leaning on the wall, and Liz was sitting between his legs. Greg was sometimes looking at them with a smile. He saw teenagers in love before, but a special bond was between them, something you could almost touch. Lucky would give his life for her, you could tell just by the way he was looking at her.
"-Where can I take a shower? Elizabeth asked Lucky
-There's the shower on this floor. I'lll go with you, come on, grab your things. I'll take mine after."
They left the room, and Elizabeth took her shower, while Lucky waited outside. After, Lucky took his while she waited outside. They went back into his room, hand in hand. She was wearing one of his tee-shirts, with pyjama pants, and he was only wearing pyjama pants. Greg was already asleep when they got in the room, and they prepared the bed to sleep too. Elizabeth was nervous, but she was decided to get through this night unharmed. Lucky took the side next to the wall, so she wouldn't feel trapped between it and him. When he was installed, she got into bed, and Lucky tried to make himself small so he wouldn't touch her. He didn't want to scare her. Liz laid down facing him. Lucky smiled at her and asked her if she was ok. She smiled back and kissed him gently on the lips. Thinking it was his good-night kiss, Lucky closed his eyes, trying to ignore these weird feelings he was having.
"-Lucky? She said softly
-Hummm? He answered without opening his eyes
-Kiss me"
He opened his eyes, stunned by her request. She got closer to him and kissed him gently. She just wanted some tenderness, and thought she would get it while she wasn't scared. She put her arm on his waist, as he put his on hers. He was kissing her gently, tenderly, as if she was something really fragile. She could get scared at anytime and he was ready to back off if he sent her tensing up. Her hand was going up and down his back. She liked the feeling of his bare-skin on her hand. He stopped kissing him and held him tight. She wanted to stop before passing the point of no-return. She knew he wanted her, she could feel it, as his kisses became more passionate, but she wasn't ready. One day, maybe, but not now. She kissed him one last time, before turning around. She took his hand and placed it on her belly. She knew she wouldn't have nightmares tonight. She was safe in Lucky's arms.
Lucky closed his eyes, but he knew he wouldn't fall asleep right away. He had to wait for his heart to calm down.
"-Face it Spencer, he said to himself, NOT just your heart. You probably scared her to death."
He wanted her so bad. He was feeling guilty of his thoughts, when she was lying so close next to him, but he couldn't help it. She trusted him enough to lie next to him and he was having crazy thoughts.
"-Lucky? She said after awhile, you asleep?
-No, can't sleep.
-Me neither. Damn Tom!
-Why?
-You know why Lucky. Don't think that II didn't feel for you what you felt for me while we were kissing. I want you too Lucky, but I just can't.
-I know, don't worry about it. It was ggoing great before you thought of Tom, let's go to sleep.
-Ok
-Lucky she said after another while
-Yeah?
-I love you
-I love you too beautiful, he answered wwhile holding her closer to him"
