"-What are you doing home? Elizabeth asked, smiling
-Well, I thought I'd take the afternoon off to spend it with you guys. He answered
-ALL RIGHT! Shouted Lori"
Lucky laughed at his daughter and looked at his son. Les was sitting at the kitchen table and was looking back at his dad. Lucky knew Les was mad at him, because he wasn't there anymore. Lucky and his son had the same kind of relationship Lucky had with Luke. Les' father was his idol, and he wanted to be just like him. But he didn't want to neglect his family. Lucky reached out and took Les' hand. The little guy finally smiled, got up and hugged his father. Lucky looked at Elizabeth and smiled.
"-Where's Lindsey? He asked her
-She is with grandma Laura and Nana Lesllie, answered Lori.
-Yeah. It's a good thing we didn't go! Said Les
-What do you want to do today guys? Askked Lucky
-Anything we want? Said Les, hopeful"
"-Can we go dad? Please? Les begged.
-Well, if that's okay with your mother, I don't mind BUT I will go in as much ride with your sister deal?
-I guess, said Les, not enthusiast anymoore.
-Can we mom? Asked Lori
-Well, can I come too? Elizabeth asked..
-Of course you can mom! Said Lori"
Even though they were twins, Lori and Les were different in every way. Lori was outgoing, spontaneous, outspoken, easy to please. She was in admiration for both her parents, her grandparents, aunts and uncles. Her favorites were Les' godparents, Nikolas and Emily. Lori was affectionate, always giving kisses and hugs. She was always smiling, loved everyone and everything. Kinda like her mom. She got excited about everything.
Les was the opposite. He was a uncommunicative child. He was shy, hard to please, and didn't open himself easily. The only people he trusted was his mother, father, grandfather Luke, uncle Nikolas and uncle Wally. He was always moody and was easily hurt. The slightest thing could feel like a betrayal to him. He was like Luke. In school, he was never talking, never taking stand for anything. He was feeling good at home, with his family. He was always thinking that someone was out to hurt him. Lucky was sad to see him like that. He knew how much his father had been unhappy, with the Cassadine feud and other problems. Lucky didn't want his son to be like that. Les was only 9 years old and he was already thinking the whole world was against him.
Lucky got up and went upstairs. He had to change. A day at the carnival wearing shorts was not a good idea. He put on a pair of jeans, and changed his tee-shirt. The one he was wearing was black, not good for a day in the sun. He put on Liz's favorite tee-shirt, the one saying "look away, I'm Lizzie's man". She bought it for him last summer. They were out with the kids, when a woman was clearly hitting on him. Lucky joked, saying he had to wear some kind of a sign, to keep the gals away from him. She went to the store and got the tee-shirt made. Lucky laughed so hard when he saw it. He chuckled softly when he felt hands around his chest and someone leaning against his back.
Elizabeth was holding him close. She was still in love with him so deeply. They were going to celebrate their 10 years wedding anniversary in two months. Liz still couldn't believe ten years went by already. It had been a bumpy road but they made it to security. Lucky and her finished University 6 years ago, and Lucky spent his time changing jobs. He used to work at two places so they could pay the bills. Liz was selling some paintings but not enough to pay the bills. Finally, Stefan came to Lucky a couple of months ago, saying the head of the computer system at GH was taking his pension and he offered the job to Lucky. He was offering a ten years contract, with a big salary. Lucky jumped on it, and it was smooth at first. Now and for the weeks to come he was having a crazy schedule, but it would be fine after that. They paid off their debts and now were saving money for the children's education.
"-I love you, Lucky said, turning around to kiss her
-I love you too"
Lucky leaned down to kiss her, with butterflies in his stomach. They only thing he gave her the past few weeks were good-night kisses, and he was aching for more. Elizabeth put her arms around his shoulders and got him closer to her. She wanted him so bad. Even after ten years, she was all turned around inside every time he touched her. Lucky was caressing her back, and she was playing in his hair. He whispered in her ear that he wished the twins were gone with his mother and grandmother too. Liz chuckled and they heard from downstairs;
"-Hey dad you comin'?
-In a minute. Your mom is helping me wiith something
-And what would that be? Liz asked withh a smile
-Well, my lips are hurting. Can you kisss them and make it better?"
Elizabeth's kisses became more passionate, more demanding, when Lucky pulled away from her. If they didn't stop right now, he would go crazy. They heard Les shout "Hurry up" and they started to go out of the room, when they heard the doorbell. Les said AW MAN! And opened the door. Elizabeth saw her sister from the stairs, talking with Lori.
They didn't see Sarah much ever since she slapped her before the birth of the twins. Lori was happy to see her but not Les. He didn't like Sarah, never called her aunt a day in his life. Elizabeth was wondering what was about. She didn't know Sarah had called the hospital and they told her Lucky wasn't working that day. Elizabeth got downstairs, put her arms around Les' shoulders and stared at her sister. Lucky looked at Sarah and asked her what she was doing there.
"-Well, I was out of town for the twins' birthday, so I decided to come by and bring them their presents. She answered
-Right the day I didn't work. How conveenient. Lucky replied
-Lucky, said Elizabeth. She didn't wantt to get into an argument in front of the children"
Sarah gave them their presents and was waiting for them to open the boxes. Lori smiled and said they would open the gifts after the carnival and asked Sarah if she wanted to join them, but before the woman could answer Lucky said;
"-Lori, this is a day only for us all right? Aunt Sarah can join us another time. Today it's you, me, Mommy and Les.
-Ok! Said Lori. Didn't take much to coomfort her"
Lucky told the kids to go wait in the car, and asked Liz to go with them. He wanted to talk to Sarah alone for a moment. Les was happy to get out of there. Sarah was the person he liked less in this world. Even the evil Helena Cassadine was more in his heart than his mother's sister. Lori followed his brother to the car. Elizabeth kissed Lucky gently and left too.
"-Sarah, I thought you understood you weren't welcome here. He said
-I know, but they are my niece and nepheew and I missed their birthday. I love them you know, she answered
-Ok, now you gave them their gifts so I don't want to see you back here before Christmas is that clear?
-Why do you hate me so much? Can't we gget passed what happened 10 years ago?
-Well, I didn't like it someone called mmy wife a bitch, no! And still today, the only time we see you around here is when I am. Elizabeth is happy without you in her life so be gone!"
Lucky got her out, closed the door and locked it. Without saying by he got in the car and left, Sarah still standing on the porch. Lori shouted "Bye Aunt Sarah" from the car window. Les sighed of relief. When he saw his aunt standing there he thought the day was off.
At the carnival, Les was all smiles. He finally had a day with his parents, without Lindsey. When she was with them, one of the adults had to stay back with her. She was still too young to go on the big rides. She was only three. Now, the ones not too high, they were the four of them in it. Sometimes he was sitting with his dad, sometimes his mom, but most of the time he was sitting with Lori, to let Liz and Lucky sit together. It was a pride for Les to see his parents still so much in love. Most of his class mates' parents were divorced and Les was terrified that this could happen to his family, but he knew, every time his father looked at his mother, that it would never happen. Les knew how his parents met. Elizabeth came to town to live with his sister and grandmother, and she did everything she could to get Lucky to notice her. They spent the next summer together, and they went off to college. Because his great-grandmother didn't want them to live together, they got married and Liz got pregnant with him and his sister. Les thought it was cute how Elizabeth got Lucky instead of Sarah. His dad once told him that they were soul mates, and that God got them together to create perfect angels, namely Lucas Lorenzo Junior and Lori Audrey. Then, God decided that two weren't enough and he sent Lindsey too. Les believed his dad. He loved his parents so much, they never did nothing wrong. Never will.
