Without waiting for an answer, Les stormed out of the room, and they heard him run upstairs. Lucky took Elizabeth in his arms. He knew how much she hated to fight with Les. These days, that was all they did. Les was a difficult teenager, always angry for one thing or another. Liz was shaking in her husband's arms. Lucky waited for her to calm down and said that he would go up and talk to him.
Lucky heard Les walking in his room. He was very angry, like always. Lucky knocked but Les said to go away. Lucky opened the door and saw hatred in his son's eyes. If they were daggers, Lucky would be dead. He got in and sat on his son's bed. Les sat next to him, still angry.

So I told Sarah I would go look for Elizabeth. She went to the movies, too ashamed to come to the dance after I stood her up. I found her in the park, crawling out of the bushes. She had been raped Les. Brutally raped. I took her to your grandmother's house and called aunt Bobbie. By the time Bobbie showed up, Elizabeth had cleaned herself up, and they couldn't get anything on the man who did this to her. For days she didn't even admitted it to herself and when she finally did, she was so depressed she couldn't even get out of bed. I was there for her. All the nights she was afraid, I slept on her floor, so she would feel safe. I was the only one she trusted. When I moved out of my parents' house, she followed me and we lived on the street for a while. She eventually moved back in with Audrey, but we were together in this. Forever. She got raped because of me, and I swore to myself when I held her for the first time that I would spend the rest of my life making it up to her. Lucky finally looked at his son, and saw he was crying. Lucky took his son in his arms, and cried about it for the first time in years. After a while, Les wiped the tears for his face and looked at his dad.

-Yes, he is dead. Got killed in prison after bragging about it to a cell mate. Lucky didn't say the cell mate was Wally.

Lucky kissed his son on the cheek, and went downstairs. Les followed him, went in the kitchen and took his mother in his arms. Elizabeth responded to his embrace, wondering what it was about.
"-I love you mom, Les said, I'm sorry for what I said. I will come back to midnight don't worry"
Lucky watched from the doorway, and went upstairs to see his daughter.
Elizabeth was sitting on the couch, reading a book. Lucky was out with Les, and Lori was upstairs with her best friend. They were probably talking about boys, and Elizabeth smiled at the thought. Her children were growing up. Lindsey was already 9 years old. The youngest Spencer was out for a shopping spree with her aunt Leslie Lu. Elizabeth couldn't believe her little sister-in-law was already 21!
Elizabeth heard keys in the door and saw the two men in her life come in. Les had the biggest smile on his face, and had a brand new guitar in his hands. He was all excited about it when he showed it to his mother. Lucky was smiling too. He was so proud that his son was into music, just like he was. Lucky showed Les how to play the guitar the kid was only 4 years old. This was his first. Les bought it with the money he made working for Bobbie at Kelly's.
The evening was calm, Elizabeth was listening to Lucky and Les singing together. Lucky showed to his son Elizabeth and Les sang it with his dad. Elizabeth was crying. She never thought her son would sing it to her. Les was so happy. Lucky told him he wrote it for her after the rape. Lucky looked at Elizabeth, smiled and started signing a song she had heard years ago, and fell in love with it.

Elizabeth and Les applauded, and Lucky bowed before them. Everyone started to laugh. They were having so much fun. Les' attitude towards his mother changed after the talk Lucky had with him. Elizabeth knew he told him about the rape, and she wasn't mad. She just thought their children didn't need to know. Now that Les knew their relationship changed for the better and she was glad.
"-Hey mom, I got one to sing to you too. Les said

Elizabeth was looking at his son, crying. She couldn't believe the song he just sang to her. She knew he meant every word of it. Lucky was wiping his tears too, just as Les was. The teen wanted his mom to know he would be there for her, forever.
Elizabeth got up and took him in her arms, and Lucky joined them. The three of them were still holding each other close when Lori came downstairs. She said bye to her friend, and, without even knowing why they were holding each other so tight she joined them. Elizabeth and Lucky let her in the embrace, and the four of them, at the same time, said I love you to the others
