CHAPTER 9

Elizabeth spent the night lying next to her grandmother, but she couldn't sleep. She was Mrs. Lucas Spencer. Lucky's wife, forever. She smiled at that thought and got up. The sun just been up, so she started making coffee, gram would be up soon. At that thought, Elizabeth's heart started racing. Audrey would be so mad when she finds out. But it was for the best and it was going to happen sooner of later, so it was better sooner than later in Liz's book. While putting cereal in a bowl, she heard a soft knock on the door. When she opened it, she saw Lucky, standing in the doorway with a big flower bouquet. He gave them to her, and gave her a long, gentle, tender kiss. Liz's legs were about to give up under her, when he whispered to her ear;

"-Good morning Mrs. Spencer

-Good morning Mr. Spencer. What are youu doing up so early?

-I couldn't sleep. I didn't sleep at alll last night

-Me neither. Gram never even woke up onnce. What about your mom?

-She was asleep when I got there, and sttill asleep when I left. I left her a note, saying I was coming here to pick you up. Even thought it's our honeymoon, still have to go to sociology class.

-I know. Have some breakfast while I taake a shower and then we'll go ok?

-Sure thing beautiful"

Then went to class, then Lucky had to meet a friend about a project. He told Liz he would be home half an hour after she got there. Audrey was sitting in the kitchen, talking with Laura. They stopped when they saw her, so Liz knew what they were talking about. Laura smiled at her and said;

"-Lucky isn't with you?

-He'll be here soon, he had an errand too run."

Audrey smiled at her granddaughter, Liz knew, just looking at that smile, that the two woman had finally figured out how to keep them separated. Liz smiled back at her grandmother, knowing in her heart it was too late.

Lucky arrived soon after that, and kissed Liz on the cheek. Laura's heart skipped a beat. She was sure something was different with them, couldn't say what. They seemed more confident, sure of themselves. Well, their confidence will soon be shaking, after Audrey tell them what they thought of.

"-Lizzie, sit down a minute, we have to talk. You too Lucky

-No it's ok Mrs. Hardy, I'll stay up." Liz sat in the only chair left, and Lucky stood behind her, putting his hands on her shoulder. Audrey started telling them that Laura finally found the answer to their problem. Lucky would keep this apartment, and Liz would move in with her grandmother in another apartment near-by. Audrey would take a year off of her work. That way, they would know the kids, as they called them, wouldn't run and do something stupid. Elizabeth looked at Lucky, and he smiled at her, saying something with it only they could understand.

Lucky went to get something to drink and offered some to everyone, but only Liz took a glass of Coke. Liz took her hands for under the table and took the glass with her left hand.

"-oh Elizabeth, what a beautiful ring you got there! Said Audrey, I didn't notice it yesterday."

Something clicked in Laura's head, and her reflex was to look at her son's left hand. Her worst fear was confirmed. She finally understood the confidence they were feeling, and the smile full of implications. The sparkles she saw in her son's eyes, when he looked at Elizabeth, were not the same she saw yesterday. Lucky looked at her, and saw her face change colors.

"-Oh My God, she said, Lucky tell me you didn't!

-What? Asked Audrey -It's a wedding ring! Replied Laura"

> Audrey was looking at Liz, then lucky, then back to Liz. She finally looked at Lucky's hand and saw the exact same ring Liz was wearing. Liz looked at her grandmother as she was about to faint. Elizabeth, concerned, asked Audrey if everything was okay. Audrey looked at her granddaughter, catching her breath, to be able to talk.

"-Please Elizabeth, tell me you just thought it would be cute to have the same ring."

Elizabeth actually felt sorry for Audrey. The girl knew Audrey would have all the troubles when her parents would find out.

"-No Gram, it's my wedding ring. Lucky and I got married last night. Well more this morning.

-What do you mean? Said Audrey You weree here when I went to bed last night.

-Yeah but Lucky picked me up around 11:330 and we went to this justice of the peace Greg knew, and he married us right there. I'm sorry Gram, but we really felt it was our only choice.

-So Lucky, you mean you lied to me last night saying you were going out with Greg? Asked Laura

-Well technically no, because Greg and MMelissa were there too. I'm sorry too, but I will take good care of Elizabeth, she is the air I breath, I need her too much to hurt her. You have to believe me Mrs. Hardy. And mom, we will be okay. You know that don't you?"

Laura answered it was not the point, and the two ladies started to talked at the same time. Lucky's hand was still on Liz's shoulder, as he wanted to show her he was there to protect her. Suddenly Laura pointed out;

"-There is still a way we can get it invalidated. If the marriage was not consumed, it's not valid.

-You are too late for that too mom. Lizz looked at Lucky, surprised. Before coming here we stopped at Greg's place, he loaned it to us for a while.

-You're lying, Laura answered. She is nnot ready for that and you wouldn't push her, I know you to well.

-Well you are right mom, but try and proove it now. You see, you thought it was just puppy love between me and my wife, but you were wrong. We told you we would do everything in our power not to be separated from each other, but you didn't believe us. Frankly, we are surprised because knowing us the way you do, you should've seen it coming.

-Oh we did! Laura replied, angry, but wwe thought we had at least another day in front of us.

-Well, I'm a fast worker in time of needd."

Elizabeth was looking at Lucky, so calm, while his mother was raging. Lucky looked at Liz and smiled at her, while putting a little pressure on her shoulder. She smiled back. Anyone could see they would give their lives for one another. Lucky looked at Audrey, who silently started crying. Lucky went to her, and took her hand. Audrey looked at him, and saw in his everything Elizabeth could see in him, his gentleness, sweetness, caring side.

"-Mrs. Hardy, if you still want to stay here for a couple of days, you are more than welcome too. I'll crash at the hotel, that is not a problem. You too mom.

-Actually Lucky, I better get home to yoour sister, Laura answered. But I expect to see the two of you in Port Charles for thanksgiving understood?

-Yes ma'am! Replied Lucky

-I will get home with Laura, thanks anywway."

Audrey took her stuff, and kissed Elizabeth good-bye. Near the door she also took Lucky in her arms and whispered in his ear;

"-Take good care of her okay?

-Of course Mrs. Hardy, she is the most pprecious person to me

-To me too, son, to me too."

Once the ladies left, Elizabeth sat on the bed and looked at Lucky. Suddenly, uncontrollably, she started to laugh. Lucky looked at her like she was crazy. Lucky said that it was almost too easy, and Liz responded with a "come here husband".

Lucky sat next to her and put his arm around her. It was lunch time, but neither of them were hungry. Lucky leaned back and laid on his back. Liz followed him and put her head on his chest.

Lucky woke up abruptly. He didn't even know what woke him up but then he heard it. The phone. Careful not to wake up Liz, he got up and answered it. It was Patrick, telling him that everything was in ordered, the license was at City Hall. They were now officially married. After hanging up the phone he went to the bed and gently kissed Liz. She frowned a little, but he laid down next to her and kissed her again and again, until she woke up. He told her what Patrick said, before taking possession of her mouth. He was kissing her more and more passionately, and she was responding to his embrace. Liz put her arms around his neck and brought him closer to her. She was pulling him so hard, that he ended up half way on top of her. His hands were caressing her body, and his kisses were exploring her mouth. His right hand was rubbing her belly, and her side. The other arm was like a pillar, so he knew she wasn't trapped under him. Her hands were under his sweat-shirt, exploring a world that, for the last two weeks, she had grown to love. He was so taking by her kisses that, at first, he didn't pay attention to what he was touching with his hand, he heard Liz whispered "oh!" so low that he thought he had dreamed it, but then realized his hand was now caressing her breasts. Horrified, he backed away from her, but she whispered "please don't stop". Electrified by her request, his kisses became more passionate, inflamed. Lucky was out of breath, while he was kissing her neck. Just by the rhythm of her belly going up and down, Lucky knew she was catching her breath too. Kissing her one last time, Lucky backed away, deciding they went far enough that night.

Liz was on fire. She didn't want him to stop and she hated him for it. Deep down inside she knew he had made the right choice but for now, only the sensations in her body mattered to her. Lucky looked at her, gently took some hair out of her face. She smiled at him, and he smiled at her. He got up, and starting looking in his chest of drawers.

"-What are you doing? She asked

-I'm going to take a shower, I stink. II'm taking my boxers with me so you won't have the pleasure of seeing me put them on.

-You are right, you do stink! But won'tt you come out of the bathroom in a towel? For me? As my wedding gift?

-In your dreams."

He went into the bathroom and Liz heard the water running. Looking at the ceiling, she was all smiles. God She loved him! He was so wonderful. A crazy thought went through her head when she asked herself what did she do to deserve Lucky? All she ever did in her life was hurting people. But she had changed since her rape. At that time she thought the rape was the reason she had Lucky. God sent her this really big test, for her to deserve Lucky. Well, if he was the reason of her rape, it was worth it.
