The deffinition of 'emigration' is, 'leaving one's countrty to live in another.' In these days, the number of the people emigrating to other countries is increasing. But is ti O.K to change one's fatherland as if it is a instrument or a car's tire? The problem we're facing is that choosing to place a higher value between two things. Whether to value the loyalty to one's nation or moving and settling in another country.
People often get criticized by other people because they can't speak their native language. It is easy to forget because they can't speak their language. It is easy to forget one's native language if one emigrates to other country. They can't help it and most of the people understand this. Then, why are they criticized? There is more than a mere linguistic reason.
One needs strength, stamina, intelligence, heart, and generosity to be called civilized. But there is one mere things in need for one to be a citized of a nation. Patriotism. When we hear the word, patriotism, we think it as a zealous love for one's country. But, the word patriotism is not so intence as common people think. One can love one's country not just by sacrifising for its benifit, but can show love to his/her country by loving one's native language, and culture. That is why those who forget or can't speak fluently their native language can be judged that they lack of patriotism. Them they can't be accepted as a citizen and will be criticized.
The Famous baseball player, Chan-Ho Park is praised for his nice plays almost everyday. On the otherhand, people praise him for his fluent speaking in Korean, though he lived in U.S.A for more than five years. This is one of the main reason why his fame lasts so long and he might have been judged as another American baseball player if he couldn't speak Korean.
The U.S.A president John F. Kennedy claimed that there is none who's exchange their land with any other people or any other generations. It is true, but the patriotism in people's mine is weakening as internationalization is getting faster and faster. There is nothing you can do if the society demands you to leave your country. But your love for your country can still remain even though your body is in other places. And that is what people should have in their mind.
