THESE POINT FORM NOTES...      have been taken from the pages, of the Website, of the  Ministry of Children and Youth Services - and -  Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies Complete versions, of these notes, can be obtained from their Websites, -using- Adobe Acrobat Reader in " pdf " format.  However, the notes within these pages should provide a good comprehension, of what this Model is and how; Social Workers, Supervisors, and Children's Aid Societies may use it, to conduct their invetigations -and- what actions they may take in response to situations, during their investigations
HOWEVER...   This Model is only the theory, of how social workers should conduct investigations and how they should respond to given situations.  In reality, without specific responsibilities, liability and accountability, under; legislation, rules, regulation, etc., social workers are not necessarily and/or entirely restricted to these limits -and- may stray from the Model, without any punitive repercussion.  There seems to be, no clear cut -and- exacting directives, for social workers to follow - and/or - for parents, to protect themselves, from the onslaught of people, who think they know better, how to raise our children
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT... It is very important to note that, this "Model" was the product, of influences and contributions by people directly -or- indirectly associated with some Government Agency; Children's Aid Society, Family and Children's Services, The Ministry of Children and Youth Services and The Ministry of Community and Social Services.  It is equally important to note there was no mention of any contribution or influence by a; parent group, parenting organization, citizen's group, and/or collective of private individuals, in the making of this Model.  It seems rather an odd coincidence that parents were not consulted in this matter, given that it has a direct impact, on their relationships with their children and the intervention, of Government Agencies, therein.  It might be equally important to know, how many of these contributors, have children, of their own -and- how well they -and- their families might hold up, to intense scrutiny, under the mandates of this Model !
SUMMARY... We are most concerned that the Government and/or any part thereof, would engage in the construction of such a standardized practice, without consulting the people, that this Model would have the greatest impact on, "Parents"  - and -  "Children".   Further, we are gravely concerned about the lack of respect and equality, betowed upon children under age of, "consent".  But, our gravest concern is the fact that both this Model, the Eligibility Spectrum therein -and- the rest of the documentation, thereof may and does provide ways -and- means around both the, " Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms " and, " The United Nations Charter ", reguarding the rights of individuals and the collective, " Family "...
