Ceramic Sculptures
by Lisa Colver
I created this amphora using coils of clay.
The tan color is the clay showing through clear glaze, and the black part is black underglaze. I coated the whole piece using clear glaze to make it shiny.
This elephant sculpture was my first attempt at using luster glazes. Although the photo doesn't show it well, the tusks of the elephant are coated with copper, and the body has a mother-of-pearl luster glaze.
This is a small sculpture I made of a cow and two birds. I colored it using underglazes, coated with a clear glaze.
This is a little ceramic decorative teapot featuring Cosette from "Les Miserables". The broom is hollow, and is the spout of the teapot. The table top lifts off as the lid. It's meant to be decorative rather than functional.
